Raw Mango, the label launched by Sanjay Garg is well-known for its silk and cotton contemporary sarees. An exhibition of Raw Mango Sarees, Stoles and Dupatta will be held between 21-31 July in Chennai. Garg started Raw Mango to fill the need for those seeking stylish sarees created by heritage craftsmen. Garg, a NIFT graduate is clear that his creations are not for women who follow fashion trends, but for those who wear sophisticated, understated creations that reflect their personality. His clients include prominent businesswoman, well-known designers, activists and politicians—Shalu Jindal, Radhika Roy of NDTV, Alpana Gujral, Arundhati Roy and Shabana Azmi.

The sarees priced between Rs 4,500 and Rs 25,000 are retailed at Garg’s by-appointment store in Delhi and at exhibitions held at select style destinations like Amethyst, Good Earth, Bombay Electric and Neemrana. The exhibition in Chennai is at Amethyst, a quaint and stylish store in Gopalapuram. Set-up by Chennai-based businesswoman Kiran Rao in 2000, it stocks antiques, curios, sarees, apparels, jewellery and food items.
