Kanchi Kaul and Shabbir Ahluwalia’s sangeet ceremony on Thursday night was a big filmi affair! Their close friends and family made a special video about the couple, and everyone had great fun watching it. All the guests had a blast on the dance floor and the highlight was Shabbir dancing to ‘Hoga Tumse Pyara Kaun’ and ‘Aye Kanchi’ in praise of his beautiful bride-to-be. Kanchi looked stunning in a creation by Kolkata’s famed bridal wear designer Anamika Khanna accessorised with Jadau jewellery.

Model Nicole D’Silva weds Singer Pervez Taufiq in Florida

Mumbai Model Nicole D’Silva married Boston based Pervez Taufiq at a beautiful celebration on 11-11-11 at the picture-perfect Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa in Florida. Pervez Taufiq is the lead singer for Living Syndication, and is also working on a solo album. Nicole’s modelling career began after she participated in the Miss India Pageant 2007.
Taufiq has been visiting India regularly, since he is also the voice for Sony Pix channel in India. He met Nicole two years ago, at Blue Frog whilst out with his friends. They struck up a conversation there, but as they parted ways and went to different after-parties, they ended up at the same places 3 times that evening! The couple have set up their new home in Boston and early next year, they will be in India to host their Mehendi and Wedding Reception in Karjat.

Post the wedding (click here to read more) at the Agiary in Colaba, the Iranis and Camas (bride Reah’s parents) hosted an elegant reception at Adenwala Baug, the Camas sprawling home in South Mumbai.
The who’s who of Tinsel Town turned up to wish the families and many guests tweeted what a wonderful evening it was. Amitabh Bachchan and Ritesh Sidhwani spoke about the Camas magnificent home. “Returning from wedding reception of Boman Irani’s son@ the 150 year old Parsi home in the middle of most congested Tardeo. Amazing”, said Bachchan. “Off to bed after an amazing Parsi bhonoo @bomanirani sons wedding reception, can’t forget to mention the magnificent location Adenwala Baug.”

Danesh, son of Veteran actor Boman Irani married Reah Cama at a traditional Parsi Wedding at the Agiary in Colaba, Mumbai on 17th November. The Iranis and Camas hosted two receptions- the post wedding reception was at lawns of the Agiary. The second reception for the Bollywood fraternity was at Reah’s sprawling bunglow ‘Adenwala Mansion’ in Nana Chowk on 20th November. Layla, the Irani’s pet-labrador looked regal in a brocade jacket and diamante-studded collar and welcomed the guests at the entrance! Immediately after the celebrations Boman Irani tweeted: “Tired! Clothes stained, jaw hurt from smiling, voice lost saying ‘thanks for coming’! Feet swollen, could not sleep! But feeling great!”
Danesh, 26 and Reah, 31 have been dating since over four years. Danesh is an Event Consultant in Dubai, where he specialises in Bollywood-related events. Reah hails from a highly distinguished Parsi family and she was working with a Dubai-based retail chain.

Model Deepa Chari weds in Jaipur

Deepa Chari married Gajendra Yadav in his home town Jaipur on November 12th. The celebrations were a simple and traditional affair, with functions like the Engagement, Sangeet, Mehendi. For the different functions the dusky beauty wore traditional creations which she bought from stores in Jaipur, and her make-up was done by Delhi’s popular make-up artist Kazi.

Deepa met Delhi-based Gajendra, a former model and Grasim Mr. India Finalist currently working as a Senior Manager with an IT MNC in Gurgaon, through common friends. Deepa, a Mangalorean has lived in Mumbai always and she’ll be moving to Delhi after marriage. Says Deepa: “I’ll continue to pursue modelling after marriage, there are enough assignments in Delhi, and I’ll travel to Mumbai as and when there’s work there.” Deepa says she loves Delhi’s winters and food, and is looking forward to her first stay outside Mumbai.
Deepa’s best friend Anjali Raut alongwith her sister Alesia Raut attended the celebrations. A few friends from the modelling and fashion fraternity like models Sucheta Sharma, Harrison James and Makeup Artist Cherag Bambboat were also there. The same group of friends is now looking forward to attending Anjali’s wedding celebrations which will take place between December 4th and 6th in Chandigarh. Anjali is marrying Singapore-based Akshaay Gill.

Indian off-spinner R Ashwin marries childhood sweetheart

India’s newest spin sensation R. Ashwin, 25 tied the knot with his childhood friend Preethi Narayanan in Chennai on Sunday. The traditional wedding was a low-key affair attended only by family members and close friends after which more friends and family blessed the newly-weds at a simple reception.
The 25 year old off-spinner, who made his debut in the first Test against the West Indies in Delhi flew to Kolkata immediately after his wedding reception, with his newly-wedded wife, for the second match starting on Monday.
This is not the first instance of a busy cricketer playing just after tying the knot. Recently, Gautam Gambhir got married a week before the start of the opening Test at Ferozshah Kotla in New Delhi. Much before this, Bradman did something similar in 1932. Sir Don and Jessie Bradman were married in St Paul’s Church in Sydney on April 30, 1932. Their honeymoon was unusual with his wife accompanying her husband on a Goodwill Tour to the US and Canada.

Many years ago, we met a very young Junelia when she was working with an international style apparel brand. We were struck by her grace and style and instantly knew the beautiful girl would make a mark in the world of fashion and style! Later, Junelia who also dabbled in acting & modelling, went on to study in UK and returned to her home town Mumbai, to embark on a career in styling and design. Today, Junelia runs her own studio in Bandra, where she custom-designs formal gowns, resort wear and Indian ensembles. She will soon retail in stores nation wide with her pret line. The designer is engaged to the pioneer of stand-up comedy in India, Ash Chandler. He is also an accomplished singer and actor with films like Mixed doubles, Guzaarish and Love Wrinkle free. We wish the charming to-be-weds luck with wedding planning and lots of happy years ahead.

We are always excited to see couples put their own twist on time honored tradtions and when wedding photographer, Devendra Purbaiya shared Sonal and Sri’s wedding card with us, we knew its something that we would like to share with our readers. Says Devendra, “Personal and Classy were the keywords that were buzzed into my ear by this cute couple Sonal and Sri, who are getting married in December. I said I have not really done any wedding card design. They said they trusted my instincts. So I started with the card design with the help of my design artist friend Anushri Chordia. Mr. Kayu from KolorKode in Bangalore helped a lot in selecting the perfect paper. Since the wedding is in Udaipur, we decided to build a storyline of Prince and Princess. But a few pictures were missing.”
Since the couple live in the US, it was impractical for them to fly down to India for a portrait shoot. That’s when photographer Mohaimen Kazi stepped in and shot some beautiful pictures of the couple. Take a look at the beautifully designed card – it sets the tone for their upcoming wedding in Udaipur that Devendra will be photographing for them.
