With WeddingSutra on Location – The Raymond Shop @ Breach Candy

As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’, we invited four grooms-to-be for a unique experience at The Raymond Shop in Breach Candy, Mumbai. Here, Prathamesh Bandekar – Photo Editor with Bombay Times, Abhijeet Wankhade – an Entrepreneur, Jinesh Bhayani – a Businessman and Ishant Devadiga – a Media Consultant share their experiences.

Says Abhijeet: “I’m getting married in two months, and when I and my fiancé saw WeddingSutra’s post inviting grooms-to-be it was my fiancé who pushed me to participate, in fact, she sent in my nomination. When I received an email from WeddingSutra I didn’t quite know how to react but my fiancé was way more excited. Seeing how happy she was, I knew I had to reschedule my work commitments and make it for WeddingSutra on Location.” Adds Jinesh: “My fiancé Manali suggested we spend our Saturday with WeddingSutra on Location, initially I was a little hesitant, but then I thought why not try something new and get a feel of what it is like to get ready for the Big Day.”

All the four grooms-to-be started off by trying on different options, Prathamesh Bandekar who was the first to arrive, decided to try three different looks. He says: “My first look was a traditional charcoal gray suit with a purple shirt and tie, which seemed cool for a pre or post wedding party. The second look was a gray suit with trousers, and a quirky bow tie, which looked fantastic in the photos and would be perfect for a vintage cocktail party theme. The third and my favorite look from the shoot was a white bandhgala with black trousers, a style that I hadn’t experimented with earlier and I must say I felt it was elegance personified!”

Abhijeet, Jinesh and Ishant all picked a Tuxedo. Says Ishant: “While I was trying the different styles, the Raymond Stylist suggested a Tuxedo, and instantly an image of Jackie Chan in the movie ‘Tuxedo’ came to my mind. I tried a cool black Tux and it felt comfortable and masculine.” Adds Abhijeet: “I tried on a Tuxedo for the first time and quite loved it.”

With each of their looks decided it was then time to get their hair styled by Laksh Singh. Says Abhijeet: “Laksh was super-awesome at his job! I’ve always enjoyed styling my hair myself, but getting one’s hair styled by an ace hairstylist was a different experience altogether.” After all of them were ready, it was time for the Photo Shoot with Candid Photographers Ashwin Mishra and Jhalak Singhal of Shades Photography. Says Prathamesh: “ I have been a Fashion and Lifestyle Photographer for the last ten years, but this was my first time in front of the camera, and I was actually a little nervous. However, interacting with Ashwin and Jhalak, I felt at ease. I think all the other guys felt the same too.” Abhijeet confesses, “Initially, I felt uncomfortable but the photo shoot turned out to be the best part of the entire experience. Ashwin understood when I was nervous and would speak to me at those times.”

In all, the grooms thoroughly enjoyed the experience as they a got a whole new insight into dressing for their big day. Says Jinesh “It was fun being spoilt to no extent and get a chance to try different wear.”Prathamesh declares, “Raymond will be my go-to brand for all my wedding occasions. Their incredible options and perfect weddings made me feel like ‘A Complete Man’.”
