Bali, the holiday hot-spot is now well-known as the perfect locale for Indian weddings. Home to most of Indonesia’s Hindus, Bali boasts of the most magnificent settings for special celebrations—an intimate wedding, a romantic celebration or a big fat spectacular Indian wedding. For wedding vendors/ specialists the Indian wedding market is obviously a hugely lucrative market and some of them are much sought-after both by Indians who live in Indonesia, and Indians hosting their destination wedding there. Jakarta-based Samara Melwani profiles four of them.

Wedding Planner Innayat Khupchandani: A highly experienced and respected Wedding Planner, Innayat planned his own wedding in Bali three years ago. Innayat helps with everything– concept, venue, design, decor, flow of event, hospitality, transportation, staff, entertainment, fireworks, sound and lighting, alcohol, gift baskets, souvenirs, wedding cards and favors.

DJ Danny Dinani: The resident DJ of almost all Indian weddings in Bali. Danny has performed in Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Macau, Philippines and China, but he lives by the words– ‘eat, pray, love & get married in Bali’. He specializes in mainstream RnB, house and bollywood music and one of his own popular remixes is Jai Ho (Electrophonic Mix). Food by Queens Tandoor: No Indian wedding is complete without desi khana and fortunately, Bali has Queens Tandoor. Originally from Jakarta, this Indian owned restaurant serves the yummiest vegetarian and non–vegetarian dishes, and their Indian desserts fare is amazing.

Editors Note- Samara shares some insights on the role of wedding experts, wherever they may be: “An Indian wedding’s ‘to-do’ list can be never ending and no wedding expert can ensure the wedding family remains stress-free but the wedding people featured above can certainly ensure you’re less hassled and you have more fun on the wedding day.”
