This Bride Didn’t Follow Suit And Wore One Instead!

Karuna Parikh’s unconventional addition to her wedding trousseau was undoubtedly refreshing. Afterall, it’s not every day that we come across an Indian bride looking sharp in a suit. Gorgeous lehengas and heirloom sarees will always be the Indian wedding staple and, while these look absolutely mesmerizing, change is always welcome. With confidence and grace, Karuna weaved classic and contemporary style into her big day, leaving us inspired!

The couple exchanged vows at the Hotel Mystic Mountain. Karuna wore a traditional Assamese-embroidered muga silk sari created by Sampa Das. Geometric and floral designs in bright colors stood in contrast to the white drape of the material. Long earrings and a layered haar beautifully-matched to her attire had her looking absolutely resplendent.

The wedding took place at the Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal, with a traditional ceremony that saw the bride dressed in red. She wore a beautiful saree from Ekaya Banaras that was covered in floral patterns, woven with golden thread. Paired with a full-sleeved blouse and a veil in the same hue, her outfit made a powerful statement, off set effortlessly by her golden choker set and kundan mathapatti. A delicate waistband from Zariin Jewelry, crafted using filigree techniques and trimmed with clusters of pearls, completed her look for the day.

Once they took their vows, the couple suited up and proceeded to the jazz night that was organized for their loved ones. Both their outfits were designed by Iqbal Shah for M.A. Shah & Sons, each suiting their personalities perfectly.

The bride and groom also celebrated their union in Kolkata. For the occasion, Karuna chose a stunning silk saree with an elegant border and a sprinkle of tiny motifs all over the fabric. A regal panchlada haari set worn along with a necklace and a stack of bangles elevated her gorgeous ensemble.
