Vritika from Mumbai wed businessman Siddharth Bansal at Grand Hyatt, Goa. Says Vritika: “Ours is an arranged marriage but it never felt like it was. We met on December 13th 2011 and by December 15th we knew the inevitable. The Roka ceremony was held on 25th December at Taj Palace in New Delhi”.

Vritika and Siddharth
The four day wedding affair was managed by Vritika’s parents. She says: “Wedding Planning was stress-free since my parents gladly took care of all co-ordination. In the months leading to the wedding, I had the luxury of spending a lot of time for ideas and inspiration on what to wear, and give inputs on decor—so I spent hours and more hours browsing through WeddingSutra.com.” Vritika’s main responsibility was to select and order the wedding cards.
“We chose Ravish Kapoor, I instantly fell in love with his Saat Phera concept wedding box. It was a one-of-a-kind concept, and Siddharth and I wrote our own wedding vows on the card.” “The welcome dinner was held by the beach. The next day i.e. 8th March being Holi, the festival of colors, we played Phoolon Ki Holi (holi with flower petals) and prayed to Lord Krishna & Radha. The cocktail party took place the same night. The Carnival theme Mehendi ceremony was held the next day by the lawns of Grand Hyatt. The Engagement & Sangeet was an entertainment packed evening with dances by family & friends. The traditional wedding was held at sunset with the Arabian Sea as a beautiful backdrop.”

An Intimate Wedding in Goa
Apr 16, 2012 Destination Weddings
Upasana and Deb, both advertising professionals from Delhi got married at a chilled-out, intimate function in Goa. The venue was a quaint set of Villas called Aashiyana Lakhanpal, hidden away in the scanty lanes of Candolim. The setting was serene and the feel relaxed and cosy.

Welcome notes for each of the guests kept in their room
The functions at the two-day event included the Mehendi and Cocktails on day one and the brunch, wedding ceremony and a poolside party on day two. For the wedding ceremony, held as per Arya Samaj rituals, Upasana wore a gorgeous blue and white creation by Sabyasachi. Both days had colour themes for decor and clothes, which the guests, very sportingly adhered to. Day one was green and gold. Day two had pastels for the brunch and off-white and gold for the wedding. Finally, the hundred guests got to the pool, and most of them were in dresses and shorts. Wet dresses and shorts eventually!

Miss Malini’s Bridal Picks
Sep 6, 2011 Celeb Weddings to Watch out for, Fashion & Bridal Wear
Celebrity Blogger Miss Malini is tying the knot at a beach-theme celebration in Goa. She talks to Weddingsutra about her wedding wear and her favourite shopping haunts.
Wedding Details
I’m a lucky girl I get to have TWO weddings! The first one is in Dhaka on December 20-21st, which will be more traditional with an Akht-Gaye Holud-Reception, the second one is more for friends and fun in Goa on February 10-11th with a mehendi-sangeet-baraat-pheras-cocktails at Montego Bay and Marbela Beach Resort in Morjim Goa (Marbela is my ultimate dream wedding destination, so psyched I got it!). It’s a beach theme so everything from the invites to the setting will be chosen keeping that in mind. For instance I want my invitations to be glass bottles with a rolled up scroll inside, like a “message in a bottle”.

Wedding Wear
For the sangeet I’ve picked a cute pink lehenga from Anita Dongre’s latest collection, I’m trying to decide whether to go with a gold high neck choli or a ruffled pink one. Anita is also designing a short lehenga in ink blue for my Mehendi as well as the rest of my clothes for Dhaka and Goa! I’m sourcing all my jewellery from Anmol Jewellers in Bandra (they did Shilpa Shetty and Lara Dutta’s wedding jewellery too!)
Best go-to spots for brides in Mumbai
I’m not a panicky bride (at least not yet) my advice would be to stay updated about designer showcases, sales and only immediately buy something only if you really love it, chances are something prettier and more flattering will come along if you just give it another go.
I am a self-proclaimed domestically challenged desi bride so I’ve left my major wedding decisions to my fabulous wedding planners Marry Me Weddings. Since Candice of Marry Me Weddings does this for a living I’ve asked her to compile her top five go-to spots for you!
1. For your wedding and trousseau, start by making a list of your functions and/or outfits and then look through magazines and collect as many magazine clippings to make things easier. Apart from the designer wear, Sagar Couture is also worth checking it for its fabulous range of fabrics. Troy Costa does great menswear, and is the best person to make sure your groom’s clothes perfectly complement yours!
2. I say go all out and splurge (if you feel like) on your footwear! You will most likely get a lot of use out of them, even after the wedding. So if you have been eyeing that pair of Jimmy Choos or Louboutins for a while, this is the best time to indulge. Your best option would be to buy your shoes if you are travelling overseas. The styles, fit and comfort is unbeatable. If you must buy in India, Rinaldi is a great option. Her bling shoes are perfect for the Indian bride and comfortable too.
3. Meera Mahadevia’s bags are stylish and luxurious perfect for the Indian bride. Keep a stash of emergency items in this stylish bag and hand it over to your best friend who will most likely be around you most of the night. As a bride, I always say it’s best to keep your hands free, but if you must have a bag – it has to be super stylish!
4. Don’t forget about your skin! Drink lots of water, exercise and don’t go on a binge diet. It will show. For facials in Mumbai I recommend Vinu in Khar who does a fabulous job and uses some amazing products!
5. ‘Tip Top’ store is fabulous for bangles and bindis. The range and options available there are unbeatable!

Lara and Mahesh’s Victorian Wedding
Feb 20, 2011 Celebrity Wedding Pictures
TOI reports that the highlight of the evening was perforce the exchange of vows which had the bride in tears. The groom just about held up. Bhupathi said, “Lara, when I first met you, this day was a dream. Today it is reality. When I’m on the tour, not a day goes by without me wishing I was home with you instead, so even when I’m gone I am with you.” Generally, a man of few words, the 36-year-old doubles star went on to add, “you are my companion, partner and best friend. I promise to stick by you through hits and flops. I look forward to growing old with you.” Lara started with the customary for better or worse, in sickness and health lines, but went on to firmly establish herself as Bhupathi’s ‘chief doubles partner’. She added, ‘I promise to return your serves and volley alongside you. I will be with you through our many wins and occasional loss.” Lara’s voice cracked when she called her husband, ‘my true north.’ The tears came down unabated when she went on to express her feelings for the 11-time Grand Slam champion, who then put his arm around his wife’s waist to calm her.

Lara’s Wedding – What will she wear?
Feb 10, 2011 Celeb Weddings to Watch out for
Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi’s wedding is just a week away and we finally have some dope on what Lara is wearing for her various wedding functions.
For the registered wedding on February 17, Lara will wear a white outfit from designer Ritu Kumar’s Falaknama collection. For the sangeet the following day, to be held at Club Fresh in Goa, her designer of choice is Delhi’s Manav Gangwani. For the church wedding on February 19 and Lara is wearing a white Elie Saab gown. The post-wedding bash at Taj Vivanta, will have Victorian décor, by Priti Sidhwani who runs Mumbai-based Dreamz Kraft. The next day, the newly-weds return to Mumbai where they are hosting another reception.
Lara is very close to Ritu Kumar who designed her national costume for the Miss Universe title. She has also been spotted in Manav Gangwani saree at IIFA and other events. So it is not a surprise that she chose these two designers. And what can we say about Elie Saab. His ethereal gowns are perfect for beach setting and as elegant as Lara herself.

Here are some white creations from Ritu Kumar’s Falaknuma Collection. We are betting Lara’s going to pick one of the sarees. What do you think?

Whats your pick for Lara from these glitzy and glamourous Manav Gangwani lehengas? Lara’s outfit is being custom made but we have a feeling it will be a shade of blue.

Bollywood’s favorite Wedding Planners to create ‘Victorian’ style decor for Lara-Mahesh Wedding
Feb 2, 2011 Celeb Weddings to Watch out for
Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi’s wedding celebrations are at the Taj Fort Aguada and Holiday Village, Goa on February 19th. The Sangeet is on February 18th and while Mahesh’s latest tweet is about his ‘practise’ for the sangeet, Lara announced that she is wearing a Ritu Kumar creation.
The decor for the Wedding events is being done by Dreamz Kraft, which is run by Priti Sidhwani who is Film Producer Ritesh Sidhwani’s sister-in-law. Dreamz Kraft, the favourite Wedding Decor & Wedding Planner of Bollywood families, recently did the decor for Neelam Kothari’s simple wedding at Taj Land’s End and the grand set-ups for Neha Oberoi’s (daughter of Dharam Oberoi) wedding at the same venue. We hear the decor at Lara-Mahesh’s wedding will be very Victorian, in keeping with Lara’s tastes. The invitation cards have a very English design too, with rose patterns and are designed by Delhi-based Entertainment Design Company (EDC) whose most famous wedding clients are Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan.
