Puneet and Aashi, JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa

Puneet and Aashi's nuptials in Rajasthan were beautifully planned to offer guests the benefit of a convenient location as well as the cool vibe of a destination wedding.

Puneet and Aashi’s Jaipur wedding was planned by WeddingSutra Favorite Ahan Destination Management and took place at the regal JW Marriott Resort & Spa in the ‘Pink City.’ Step into their lively celebrations as we take a look at all that went into it as shared by bride Aashi.

How We Met
Puneet is an entrepreneur, techie and an engineer by profession. He met interior designer and content curator Aashi in an arranged marriage setup. She shares, “Science meets Arts. East meets West and sparks flew! Marriage was not on our minds, but it was definitely on the cards. After a few ‘dates’, Puneet popped the question in a casual conversation at a city cafe and our fairytale journey began.”

Wedding Venue
“Puneet and I both hail from Rajasthan. He is from Jaipur, and my hometown is Ajmer. We had dreamt of a destination wedding, but due to a large number of guests expected and the uncertainty of the weather in our preferred destinations made us opt for JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa. Situated about 45 minutes away from Jaipur city’s center, it gave our celebrations a fun ‘destination wedding vibe.’ Plus, the property’s architecture, aura and hospitality of the staff made each guest’s experience a royal one.”

Wedding Planning
“Working with the great team of Ahan Destination Management helped us execute the wedding smoothly, and we commend them with managing all our timelines with full punctuality.”

Wedding Functions

Mehndi
“The celebrations kickstarted with a mehndi function. Keeping in mind the Rajasthani setting of the venue, we had ‘tye & dye’ themed decor and Rajasthani performers at this event.”

Engagement
“The mehndi followed by a jazzy engagement and the musical evening was all about shimmer and glitter, with acts like laser dances, water drums and performers like Pawani Pandey mesmerizing the guests.”

Carnival Party
The carnival event, scheduled just before the pheras and reception, was the highlight of the wedding. It was hosted at the groom’s farmhouse and included Bollywood music, Brazilian dancers and a dramatic entry of the couple on a Harley Davidson. The function took place in an open setting where colorful decor and fresh flowers added a romantic vibe to the environs. With blue dominating the color palette, a few quirky decor elements and other picturesque elements added to the charm of the setup. Staying true to the theme of the event, the bride and the groom incorporated the colors into their ensembles for this function too.

Wedding and Reception
On the last night of the celebrations, Puneet and Aashi exchanged their vows and began their journey as man and wife. Their stunning mandap was the highlight of the decor for this function. With pillars engulfed in fresh florals and a roof that featured strings of red and white flowers, the mandap truly made a statement. The bride was resplendent in a beautiful gota-patti lehenga while the groom wore a powder pink sherwani. Aashi shares, “The idea was to look remarkably different at each event. We preferred homegrown, local designers over the high-end labels for our wedding outfits.” The reception followed the same mood as the wedding, and the look of fresh florals and gold accents was enhanced further with the use of some vibrant lights. The couple combined rustic and Indian themes into the decor for this event.

Advice for Couples
“We suggest couples to plan a pre-wedding shoot even though they are being overdone these days. It will allow you both to spend quality time with each other in a beautiful location before the wedding and that experience will be unparalleled.”
