The Sangeet to celebrate Bappi Lahiri’s son Bappa’s wedding to Taneesha, daughter of action coordinator Mahendra Verma was quite naturally a fun, glitzy affair. The who’s who of Bollywood, especially music were there at Juhu Club Millennium, and Bollywood beauties were dressed in their traditional best.

Usha Uthup sang her super hit tracks and Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun entertained the audience with Choli Ke Peechey Kya Hai while Sophie Choudry performed to Jor Ka Jhatka Hai Joro Se Laga. Taneesha, was escorted on stage by her best friend, Shraddha Kapoor, and she and her friends danced to energetic numbers like Mast Kalandar and Desi Girl. She performed solo to Bole Chudiyan, and later the to-be-weds performed to the tunes of Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai. Many other friends of the family did impromptu dance performances.

The Wedding a traditional Bengali-Gujarati affair, was held at ITC Grand Maratha on Monday, 16th. The grand reception is on Wednesday, 18th April.

Desi Boyz Director Rohit Dhawan (son of noted film Director David Dhawan) is getting married to fashion merchandiser Jaanvi Desai. The celebrations are between February 10 and 12 at the Park Hyatt, Goa, and the Wedding Planners are Cornerstone Entertainment, the event company owned by Bunty Sajdeh (actor Sohail Khan’s brother-in-law)

According to reports, there will be a Mehendi, Sangeet and Reception—all in Goa, and expected at the celebrations are SRK, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh and John Abraham.

Kolkata Jute baron’s daughter weds in Mumbai

Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar attended Kolkata’s business tycoon Ghanshyam Sarda’s daughter Prerna’s marriage to Abhinav Jhunjhunwala, son of Amitabh Jhunjhunwala (Vice Chairman and Director of Anil Ambani group).

The pre-wedding function was held at a South Mumbai hotel and the traditional wedding celebrations were in Bandra on January 28. The bride arrived at the wedding venue in a Palanquin; Anil and Tina Ambani welcomed the guests at the entrance and present at the power wedding were several corporate heavy-weights, top politicos and Bollywood stars. The cuisine for the wedding was fully vegetarian– Bengali, Punjabi, Chinese, Thai, South Indian and Continental specialities and special Bengali desserts prepared by sweet-makers who came in specially from Kolkata.

Ghanshyam Sarda is the owner of Rs. 2,500 crore Sarda Group of Industries, one of West Bengals largest employers. Prerna was working with The Sarda Group. Abhinav Jhunjhunwala works with a Singapore-based firm.

Tina Ambani hosts pre-wedding bash, Jhunjhunwala-Sarda wedding celebrations commence tonight

Abhinav, the son of Amitabh Jhunjhunwala is marrying Prerna Sarda. Amitabh Jhunjhunwala is Anil Ambani’s Chief Lieutenant and R-ADAG Group Vice Chairman. Prerna Sarda is the daughter of Kolkata-based Jute and IT baron Ghanshyam Sarda. Tonight, Tina Ambani hosts a pre-wedding celebration for the to-be-weds, at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba.

Abhinav and Prerna’s engagement was held over a grand vegetarian lunch at The Oberoi in Kolkata on June 12th, 2011. Of course Tina and Anil Ambani were there and so were many other high profile guests like Union Minister Praful Patel, stock market guru Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Bollywood’s Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Prerna is a graduate of New York University, and was working in her father’s business. Abhinav, a Berkeley graduate works in Singapore.

Chiranjeevi’s son engaged to Apollo Hospitals Heiress

Actor Ram Charan Tej, son of Telugu super-star Chiranjeevi got engaged to Apollo Hospital heiress Upasna Kamineni at her sprawling farmhouse in Moinabad, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Over 2,000 guests were sent bar-coded invites, and the security was tight in view of the extraordinary amount of fanfare and curiosity among the public. But the families arranged for a ‘live webcast’ of the engagement, since they didn’t want to disappoint Ram Charan’s and Chiranjeevi’s fans.

- ‘Temple Trees’ was the theme of the evening.
- Upasna wore a saree by Tarun Tahiliani and Ram Charan wore a Rajesh Pratap sherwani.
- The vegetarian spread included Continental starters and Rajasthani, Punjabi and Gujarati delicacies by Hyderabad’s well-known Gaurav Caterers.
- The non-vegetarian spread was by Mazharbhai of ‘Hyderabad House’ fame.
- Delhi-based event management firm Choices Entertainment managed the event, and they flew in floral/ decor specialists from Thailand.
- Post the engagement Charan and his best friends flew to Goa for a Bachelor party.
- The function was photographed by ace Mumbai/ Hyderabad based photographer Joseph Radhik who earlier shot Charan’s cousin actor Allu Arjun’s wedding.

Post the wedding (click here to read more) at the Agiary in Colaba, the Iranis and Camas (bride Reah’s parents) hosted an elegant reception at Adenwala Baug, the Camas sprawling home in South Mumbai.

The who’s who of Tinsel Town turned up to wish the families and many guests tweeted what a wonderful evening it was. Amitabh Bachchan and Ritesh Sidhwani spoke about the Camas magnificent home. “Returning from wedding reception of Boman Irani’s son@ the 150 year old Parsi home in the middle of most congested Tardeo. Amazing”, said Bachchan. “Off to bed after an amazing Parsi bhonoo @bomanirani sons wedding reception, can’t forget to mention the magnificent location Adenwala Baug.”

Boman Irani hosts traditional Parsi Wedding

Danesh, son of Veteran actor Boman Irani married Reah Cama at a traditional Parsi Wedding at the Agiary in Colaba, Mumbai on 17th November. The Iranis and Camas hosted two receptions- the post wedding reception was at lawns of the Agiary. The second reception for the Bollywood fraternity was at Reah’s sprawling bunglow ‘Adenwala Mansion’ in Nana Chowk on 20th November. Layla, the Irani’s pet-labrador looked regal in a brocade jacket and diamante-studded collar and welcomed the guests at the entrance! Immediately after the celebrations Boman Irani tweeted: “Tired! Clothes stained, jaw hurt from smiling, voice lost saying ‘thanks for coming’! Feet swollen, could not sleep! But feeling great!”

Danesh, 26 and Reah, 31 have been dating since over four years. Danesh is an Event Consultant in Dubai, where he specialises in Bollywood-related events. Reah hails from a highly distinguished Parsi family and she was working with a Dubai-based retail chain.
