Style Glossary

Wondering what brief to give your wedding photographer? We’ve prepared a list of popular wedding photography styles—to help you visualise wedding photographs which you’ll proudly cherish. But every photographer is not necessarily good at all the styles—so its best to go with a style which is your photographer’s forte, or pick a photographer whose work reflects the style you’re interested in.

Traditional, Classic:
Think timeless style. Posed yet perfect shots. A nice style for portrait and group photos! And for those whose interest is in the formal and the classic.

Photojournalism:
An informal style that is now gaining popularity in India! You don’t pose but the photographer remains invisible and follows you and captures moments as they unfold—the result is a lot of candid, unposed shots. A perfect style for those who love action!

Hi Fashion:
For those whose big attention is on their clothes and who love glamorous pictures. Very few Fashion photographers and interested in wedding photography in India—you’ll have to request one of your fashion photographer contacts to agree to do the job.

Combination:
A mix of all styles: traditional/classic, photojournalism and Hi Fashion.
