Panetar and Ballroom-style Lehenga
Urvee Adhikaari self-designs her wedding wear
Urvee Adhikaari the daughter of business magnate Gautam Adhikari (of
SAB TV) married Karan Vyas on 11th December. Urvee, a fashion designer
by profession is a great fan of Manish Malhotra and Rohit Bal but she
didn’t want to spend huge sums on her wedding wear. She says: “I’ve
heard most well-known designers charge lakhs for just one wedding
creation, and many brides happily pay the same. I think that is a
criminal waste of money; I decided not to take the big designer route,
and self-design most of my wedding wear.”

Urvee and Karan’s Cocktail and Engagement was held at Novotel, Juhu.
The ladies Sangeet & Mehendi at the Adhikaari home in Juhu. The
Sangeet at the Marriott and the Wedding and Reception at Taj Lands
End. For the Moroccon theme Sangeet at Marriott, Urvee designed a
Pakistani anarkali with a net churidar. The kurta had gota work, and
the churidar and dupatta both had heavy embroidery.

For the Cocktail, she wore a creation by Babita Malkani—a blood-red
chiffon gown with crystal and pearl embellishments.

For the Pheras, Urvee got an ivory Panetar with a red border—with kundan work.

For the Reception, Urvee wore a Ballroom-style lehenga with white and
crystal embroidery, and filled with can-can for a fluffy effect. She
teamed this with a short net choli and an elaborate diamond set from
Rajabhai Jewellers.
