Geetika Sharma and Udit Mehrotra

Geetika Sharma started ‘Bride & Groom’ a wedding exhibition when she was 19 years old—this was a decade back. Since then she has interacted with hundreds of designers around India. She says: “Each time I would meet a designer whose creations I really liked, I’d visualise myself wearing it on my Big Day. So even though I couldn’t wear all the creations for the wedding and pre-wedding functions I picked one creation from all my favourite designers for my trousseau.”

Our Wedding
Geetika married Udit Mehrotra at the Gulmohar Farms, Delhi on 23rd September, 2007. Around the same time, she introduced the magazine Bride & Style. Udit, a telecom specialist is a Director with Telecom firms Shyam Telecom and Spectranet. He recently won the award for the Young Innovative Telecom Entrepreneur.

Says Geetika: “For the engagement I picked an aqua Green lehenga from Ecru Couture by Ankur Batra. My sangeet outfit was a white and purple kinkhwab lehenga with gold and mirror work. For the cocktail I wore an outfit with a lot of bling from Ecru Couture. I teamed this with a diamond and emerald set. For the wedding I chose a JJ Valaya tomato red lehenga with traditional zardosi embroidery, and a polki and gold set. For the reception I wore a grand pink creation by Tarun Tahiliani with swarovski and pearl work, and a diamond and ruby set.”

She adds: “My jewellery for the wedding was from a Delhi based
jewellery designer named Queenie. For the other functions I picked the jewellery from a Chennai based Brand- Exotic Jewels by Bhavna Shah.” My wedding makeup was done by Ambika Pillai.
