Meher Daswani (Roshni Hathiramani) goes for a Glitz, Glam and Gold Look

Meher (Roshni) has lived in Manila most of her life. She studied and
worked in Australia and married Spain based Amit Daswani whose family
runs a perfume business and a chain of stores named ‘Sabina’. Meher
and Amit now live in Las Palmas, Spain. Meher talks about her dream
wedding in Pune.
Much before my engagement and wedding, I would always dream about my
perfect wedding. I visualised my wedding ceremony and wedding look to
be very traditional, in reds or maroon with a touch of gold and cream.

Our Sangeet was at the Corinthian and the wedding on November 22, 2009
was at the Vimla-Jivan Jhulelal Temple. For the Sangeet, I wore a
traditional lehenga choli with zardozi work by designers Manzar and
Hirsch (from Delhi). I wanted a feel of a very traditional ’Jodhaa
Akbhar’ outfit. The skirt was velvet and the work was just beautiful.
Everything I wore including the jewellery was very traditional. Of
course it was the heaviest outfit I ever wore in my life but this was
THE function at the celebrations. As for the main wedding, I wanted a
simple and elegant lehenga with my favorite colors and which would
look nice at a temple wedding. Mumbai Designer Zeenat Sayani created a
beautiful cream mermaid style skirt with light gold designs and
zardozi, and a velvet top.

For the reception at the Turf Club, I opted for a completely different
look. The theme was ‘Black, White and Diamonds’, the entire hall was
transformed with black cloth, lots of candles, red roses and strings
of diamond-like hanging from the chandeliers. All our guests were
requested to dress according to the theme. To stand out, I wore a
beautiful western greyish-silver wedding gown which had a small stitch
work on the right side of the top. I bought this gown from a store in
Australia.

My wedding was truly the wedding of my dreams and I couldn’t have been happier!!
