A Day with WeddingSutra Favorites: Mitali Nagpal
WeddingSutra Favorites - Apr 11, 2016
‘A Day with WeddingSutra Favourites’ is when WeddingSutra brings their wedding planning enthusiasm and expertise to excited to-be-weds. We customize a program for a selected WeddingSutra reader, which includes visiting a specially curated list of jewellery experts, wedding couturiers and other specialists, a process that has turned out to be invaluable for couples planning their wedding.
Meet Mitali Nagpal and her mother, Mrs. Bhavna Nagpal as she tells us about her Day with WeddingSutra Favourites.
Mitali and Vivek
Vivek and I have been friends since childhood. He works in his father’s import-export business while I’ve just taken a break from my teaching career. Our dads went to school together and when we grew up, with the mutual consent of both families, our wedding was planned. We were delighted! We always got along well, I’ve come to know Vivek more closely these last few years and the idea of spending our lives together was thrilling! We got engaged in December last year and we now have the privilege of a long courtship as our wedding has been tentatively fixed for November this year.
I emailed WeddingSutra asking to be a part of ‘A Day With WeddingSutra Favourites’ and when they responded I jumped at the opportunity. I was really looking forward to an eventful, insightful day with WeddingSutra and each of the meetings we had were very helpful and guided me in the right direction.
Stop 1: Jean-Claude Biguine
My day began at the famous JCB salon, Bandra. It was a pleasure meeting make-up director Abhilasha who is so well versed with her work. She gave me some very useful tips on managing my skin and showed me a few tricks to achieve an easy, quick look for a casual outing.

Stop 2: Smile Essentials
Our next stop was at Dr. Diksha Batra’s clinic – Smile Essentials for a consultation. Dr Batra herself performed a dental check-up and suggested a few treatments like a cleansing and bleaching for my teeth. She also suggested the perfect time to get these done with respect to the wedding.

Stop 3: Gehna Jewellers
At Gehna Jewellers, I tried on different neckpieces and earrings from their classic, elegant bridal collections. They have a wide, varied variety to choose from to create the perfect bridal look.

Stop 4: Whatknot Photography
Aditya at Whatknot Photography took some beautiful, candid shots of me. It was delightful to see his enthusiasm and his impressive portfolio of weddings shows his love for his profession.

Stop 5: Ritu Kumar
Our last stop was the Ritu Kumar store at Lower Parel. I tried on several bridal lehengas. The staff was attentive and helpful and this lovely experience gave me an idea of how I’d like to look on my D Day.

Stop 6: Heel & Buckle
At Heel & Buckle I tried on a beautiful, chic, medium-heeled pair of shoes that fit like a dream and were extremely comfortable. I couldn’t find my size that day, so I will be going back!

Stop 7: WeddingWishList.com
The concept of a wedding registry was completely alien to me and I had no idea something like this even exists. WeddingWishlist is a nice concept and it eliminates both unnecessary expenditure and the hassle of figuring out what the perfect gift is.
Overall, my Day with WeddingSutra Favourites was an incredible kickstart to my wedding preparations. I want to say a big thank you to Team WeddingSutra who made me feel so special for this golden opportunity to meet so many eminent professionals willing to help me in my bridal journey! Thank you so much.
