A four-day celebration in Switzerland that seamlessly blended European and Indian traditions, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Alps

Set against the striking landscape of the Swiss Alps, Trisha and Gregoire’s wedding was envisioned as an intimate, immersive celebration and brought to life by WeddingSutra Favorite – Ferris Wheel Diaries. The planning team approached the wedding with a clear focus on balance, blending Indian traditions with European settings in a way that felt natural and considered. Every element was designed with intention, ensuring the experience remained personal, cohesive, and true to the couple’s shared love for travel, the outdoors, and meaningful moments.

“When Trisha and Gregoire came to us, they were clear that they wanted more than a traditional wedding,” shares Vedika Singhal from Ferris Wheel Diaries. “They wanted an experience that felt intimate and reflective of who they are. Our role was to translate that into a journey their guests could truly be part of.”

The celebrations began in Lausanne at the Beau Rivage Palace with a classic cocktail evening. The setting was elegant yet relaxed, with soft lighting, refined table styling, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It allowed guests arriving from across the world to settle in, connect, and ease into the celebrations ahead.

The following morning brought a shift in pace with water sports on the lake, reflecting the couple’s shared love for activity and the outdoors. By afternoon, guests arrived at Portes Des Iris for the mehendi and sangeet, set against the expansive greens of a Swiss vineyard. The decor introduced a vibrant, bazaar-inspired setting with curated stalls, playful details, and interactive elements. Experiences such as hot air balloon rides and vineyard tours added a distinctive layer, making the afternoon feel both festive and experiential. Trisha and Gregoire made a lively entrance in a vintage miniature car, followed by an impromptu performance that set an energetic tone. As the celebrations moved indoors for the sangeet dinner, the mood became more intimate, with ambient lighting and elegant styling. Trisha’s solo performance brought a dramatic, regal quality to the evening, while Gregoire’s speech added an emotional depth that resonated with everyone present. Their joint tango performance offered an unexpected highlight, and the evening continued with live music, speeches, a seated dinner, and dancing that carried on late into the night.

Day three began at a slower pace with a yacht brunch set against the Alps. The setting was calm and expansive, with guests enjoying the journey as much as the destination. From Villeneuve, they travelled to Hérémence in vintage postal buses, turning the mountain drive into an experience in itself.

The Indian wedding ceremony took place in Hérémence as the evening light softened across the mountains. The decor was kept refined and minimal, allowing the natural surroundings to remain central while incorporating elements of Indian tradition.

In a unique approach, Vedika Singhal officiated the ceremony, guiding the couple through the pheras and articulating each vachan. “They wanted a ceremony that felt personal and meaningful,” she shares. “It was about honouring tradition while making it their own.” The ceremony felt intimate and sincere, focused on the essence of the rituals rather than formality. Dinner followed under the open sky, with simple yet thoughtful table settings, warm lighting, and a relaxed atmosphere.

The final day brought everyone to Evolène – Gregoire’s hometown – where the church ceremony would take place in his family’s church for the church ceremony at Église Saint-Jean Baptiste. The reception took place at a custom-built alpine pavilion overlooking the mountains. The setting was dramatic yet serene, with panoramic views shaping the overall experience. The celebration incorporated Swiss traditions, including local folk performances and cultural elements that reflected Gregoire’s heritage. The decor remained understated, allowing the location to take precedence while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. Guests enjoyed a relaxed afternoon with Swiss cuisine, live music, and unhurried moments of connection.
