A maximalist wedding where glamour, imagination, and immersive design took centre stage!

Long before the celebrations began, Alya and Shivaan envisioned their wedding as a journey, one that would unfold in carefully crafted chapters. Rather than a series of standalone events, the festivities were imagined as immersive experiences, where emotion, design, and storytelling came together. This expansive vision took shape through a seamless collaboration between WeddingSutra Favorite – Eventshoppe, who conceptualised and designed each celebration with striking imagination, and WeddingSutra Favorite – Tamarind Global, who planned the wedding with effortless precision.

The engagement brunch softened the pace, unfolding as a romantic fantasy inspired by an English garden. Guests were welcomed through a tunnel of shaded pink florals into a setting awash in blush, lilac, and crystal accents. A striking 30-foot floral tequila bar declaring ‘All we need is love and tequila’ became an instant crowd-puller, paired with an elegant English flower box bar. Ballroom pillars were transformed into baby’s breath trees, crystal strings shimmered overhead, and the dining area revealed a curated culinary spread with dedicated counters for indulgences such as caviar and oysters.

For the cocktail evening, guests were transported into an enchanted forest. Orchid-lined pathways and a dramatic baby’s breath gate led into a mirrored foyer glowing with candlelight. Inside, towering white floral trees, infinity mirrors, suspended lit birds, and thousands of flickering candles created a spellbinding atmosphere. A garden-style central bar anchored the space, while cascading white florals framed the stage. “The idea was to create something spectacular yet refined,” shares Sumita. “Fantasy, but with restraint.”

The Mehndi celebration embraced colour and eclectic charm, drawing from Moroccan and Turkish influences found in Dubai’s vibrant souks. Pink evil eyes, symbols of protection, featured prominently, greeting guests alongside rose wine. Decorated camels stood at the entrance, while inside, guests wandered through recreated spice, fabric, and bauble markets. Golden trees, flying carpets, blue birds, and roaming magicians added layers of surprise, while a lively central bar kept the energy flowing.

The Sangeet shifted the energy dramatically with a bold ‘Disco in the Congo’ theme. Drawing from the couple’s love for jungle holidays and their spirited circle of friends, the decor fused wild motifs with high-shine glamour. A towering disco ball and neon signage set the tone at the entrance, leading guests past starlit pathways, mirrored jungle animals, and towering giraffes. Inside, silver-leaf trees formed a dramatic canopy, while lions and cheetahs framed the stage. A playful Monkey Bar became a lively focal point. “This night was all about scale and spectacle,” says Sumita. “From concept to execution, it was designed to thrill.”

The wedding itself unfolded as a vision of regal grandeur inspired by Indian palaces and the enduring symbolism of gold. Guests entered through a crystal arch into a setting defined by gold mirror finishes, crystals, and artful lighting. At its heart stood a striking mandap crowned with a gold dome overflowing with baby’s breath. “Gold symbolised eternity and commitment,” reflects Sumita. “It allowed us to create something over-the-top, yet elegant and timeless.”
