A post-wedding shoot in the Maldives that unfolded a tropical paradise

The Maldives is the go-to destination for couples who want a romantic escape as well as memorable adventures. With its clear blue waters, lush lagoons, luxurious resorts with overwater bungalows and activity options like watersports and diving, the Maldives is nothing less than a slice of paradise. Enticed by its magical and modern aura, Rohan and Komal headed to the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa in the Maldives for their post-wedding shoot. Photographer Navin Varma conceptualized and captured the images which do full justice to the beautiful location. Komal shares some interesting highlights of the post-wedding photoshoot.
How We Met
“Rohan and I first met at a nightclub when he initiated a conversation by complimenting my dance moves. He also suggested we meet the following day. I thought it was going to be a casual hangout, so I agreed. If only I knew that life had a surprise for me then! A long drive and some never-ending conversations later, we felt as if we had known each other since forever. After years of togetherness, a beautiful proposal, and a dreamy wedding – here we are now – man and wife! Now that I think about it, our long drive never really ended!”
The Proposal
“Rohan planned an unforgettable proposal for me at Mahabaleshwar. Imagine a setting lit with candles and rose petals assembled right next to a serene pool along with a dance crew swaying to the mesmerizing tunes of a band. He brought to life a vision!”
Post-Wedding Photo Shoot
“We did not have the time for a pre-wedding shoot, so we planned one after our wedding. Right from the destination to the photographers, we were sure about our choices, and the pictures prove that our decisions were all the right ones. We posed against the stunning vistas of Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, and our shoot by Navin Varma captured that essence of royalty and luxury living that we wanted. Navin’s sheer dedication and passion for his work amaze me. He was the first one to reach the location and explore the property. He captured the stunning beauty of off-beat spots in the area and motivated us to get out of the room so that we could shoot in the beautiful morning light. The highlight of the entire shoot was watching the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, and of course, the underwater photography! We had always wanted to shoot with Navin, and this experience was a dream come true. His outstanding skills and warm nature truly made us feel like celebrities!”
