A Pre-Wedding Shoot in the Picturesque Hill Station, Mussoorie
Pre Wedding Photoshoots, Wedding Photography & Films - Nov 30, 2018
Winding paths through the mountains, flanked by lofty deodars, colonial bungalows, charming bazaars, beautiful boulevards, and spectacular views – Mussoorie is a throwback to an easier, quieter time.
Sanchit and Ashika flew to this picturesque little jewel in the hills with WeddingSutra Favorite – Happy Flashbacks, for a pre-wedding shoot. The couple shared some stunning photos from the shoot as well as their interesting story and highlights of their pre-wedding shoot experience.
How We Met
Sanchit shares “Our parents wanted us to meet for almost a year but we kept avoiding it. Finally, one day we decided to meet at The Lodhi Hotel and upon reaching, I called her up to check if she had reached and she said ‘yes’. The only problem was that she had reached Lodhi Restaurant and I was waiting for her at The Lodhi Hotel. It took us another 30-minutes to finally meet. Once we met, we did not hit it of maybe because we were extremely different from each other. We went back home and told our parents that we weren’t keen on taking this further. But one odd day, her parents made a plan to meet my parents and see me at my home.
They convinced Aashika to come back to Delhi as she was studying in Mumbai and made us meet each other once again at her home with the entire family. We exchanged numbers and luckily I was supposed to travel to Mumbai for my friends wedding. That wedding night was such a blur, thanks to drinking excessively with friends that I apparently ended up calling Aashika 37 times! The next morning when I checked my phone, I realized that she had answered all those 37 calls. I was so embarrassed that I apologized to her and somehow managed to convince her to meet me that evening. We met at Gadda da Vida and it was the most special night! We ended up talking for 6-hours straight. You usually don’t do that with a stranger but our perception towards each other changed that day and that’s how we officially met!
The Pre-Wedding Shoot
For the pre-wedding shoot, Happy Flashbacks played with color, perspective and a mix of classic and quirky poses. The pictures taken indoors and outdoors, the couple’s attire and their obvious readiness to pose and emote make for some unique frames.
Sanchit says, “For Aashika wearing a Sabyasachi lehenga was a dream but for me it was to have Happy Flashbacks document our beautiful moments. We met Noopur and Anish almost 6 months before our wedding and even in the first meeting itself, me and my mom were absolutely sure about having them onboard to document our wedding. The entire process was like a picnic with friends. We had a great time traveling and shooting with Happy Flashbacks.
Everything was styled and planned by Happy Flashbacks and their team. There were four different outfit changes and the final outcome was beautiful. When it came to styling, I think no one can be better suited than Noopur from Happy Flashbacks. She was so particular and clear in her thoughts that she took less that 15 minutes to finalize and let us know what she wanted. Noopur and Anish were always so secretive in what they did that we just trusted them and let them do what they wanted. The connection with them also made us absolutely comfortable in front of the camera.
From concepts, to clothes, frames, to color coordination, they handled everything and we did what they wanted. The first look was an all-white outfit since it was a cave with running water. I think that was our favorite look. We remember how adamant Noopur was with looks and the style of dress and even the fabric.
Another look involved a pink suit for myself and a saree for Aashika since we were on a top of a mountain. The look was perfect and dreamy right on top of the hills. Another look had me wearing shirt and pants to match Aashika’s purple gown since we were shooting at the property called Savoy Mussorie which had a royal charm to it. As for the final look for our rapid fire round, we went for extremely fun clothes. We thought that the ‘drunk’ theme at the Savoy was pretty cool and of course the rapid fire round. Our experience with Happy Flashbacks has been wonderful and their team managed to pull off the shoot quite well. With beautiful pictures for all to see, their work speaks for itself.”
Here’s what the family members had to say after watching the Pre-Wedding Film.
