A royal yet intimate Suryagarh wedding that was brimming with Pinterest-worthy decor ideas
Destination Weddings, Wedding Planning - Apr 20, 2022
If you are dreaming of an opulent, grand Indian wedding that is also intimate, Abhilash & Shruti’s fairytale wedding at Suryagarh Jaisalmer ticks all the boxes. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Kkings Events, this dreamy wedding was replete with exciting celebrity performances and rousing revelries with warm moments of family celebrations. WeddingSutra Favorite – Design HQ crafted distinctly unique decor themes for different functions that are sure to leave you spoilt for choice when it comes to inspiration and ideas.
Spanning a vintage boho-inspired theme for the Mehndi to an island mandap and Wedding crafted sumptuously with red roses, the decor for every function borrowed elements and ideas from the venue itself while accentuating the vibe and feel of the space with great panache. Design HQ thoughtfully designed and produced every occasion to ensure a cozy, intimate feel while channeling the grandeur of the iconic palace hotel. Watch it all unfold below.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Hosted at Suryagarh’s Champa Garden, the Mehndi decor borrowed from the earthiness of the space. Decorated with a mix of vintage and rustic elements, the occasion exuded old-world charm. Peacock chairs, Moroccan poufs, rattan chairs, leather director chairs and plush sofas recreated the aura of an old hunting lounge, replete with antique paraphernalia such as telephones, keys and books. Classy arrangements of pampas grass, dry flowers and shola flowers brought from West Bengal added a touch of bohemian allure. The hidden semi-circular couple-seating surrounded by a wild, mystical arrangement of pampas grass stole the show.
Haldi
The central courtyard was bathed in splashes of citrus hues for the Haldi function. Sunlight rippled through the draped canopy of mustard and green over the space decked in an abundance of marigolds, including the pond in the middle. Cushions and furnishings printed with palace-inspired motifs elevated the classic white furniture, while gold ghungroo, tassels and other elements added a touch of royalty to the floral arrangements.
Sufi Night
Hosted at Sam Sand Dunes Desert Safari Resort, the Sufi Night was brimming with gilded revelries. The royal decor of red and gold with palatial influences lit up in a sparkle of cold pyro as the renowned folk artist Mame Khan bewitched the audience with his performances.
Sangeet
The glitz and glam of the Sangeet night were adorned with the musical stylings of the hit-duo Salim-Sulaiman and decor inspired by the bride’s love for Sheesh Mahal. A magnificent stage shaped with jharokhas and palatial engravings surrounded the grand stage that also saw rousing dance performances by the couple and their loved ones.
Wedding
Orchestrated with an abundance of red roses, the wedding combined grandeur and romance in the most exquisite way. The amphitheater-styled guest-seating with plush red diwans and gold bolsters on staggered levels led to an island mandap in the middle surrounded by water with rose petals strewn generously on all four sides. Decadent arrangements of vivid crimson roses covered the mandap and other spaces scattered with accents of baby’s breath, candle baubles and greens. Red and white candles, votives and stands along with metallic gold accents completed the look. The couple exchanged varmalas to a dazzling display of fireworks before tying the knot in a splendorous ceremony.
