A soulful pre-wedding photoshoot that captured this couple’s love against the rugged beauty of Ladakh

Some love stories compel us to marvel at the serendipitous nature of life. Tanvi and Anmol knew each other as schoolmates from the time they were children. However, they only realized that their futures were destined to be forever when years later their grandmothers, who happened to be best friends, thought they were a perfect match and planned to introduce them. It wasn’t long before the two fell in love and, as they excitedly await their upcoming wedding, they decided to capture their unique story with a pre-wedding photoshoot, shot by WeddingSutra Favorite – Weddingrams.
Tanvi says, “Anmol is a photographer so everything, from conceptualization to location and the shoot itself, was planned by him. After much consideration, we narrowed our location choices down to Ladakh or Goa. Ladakh’s raw beauty and fascinating local culture finally won us over. Needless to say, it is the best place we could have chosen. The shoot was done by Weddingrams, which is owned by one of Anmol’s closest friends. Taking it to the next level was Anmol’s little sister, Simran, our in-house designer, who created our outfits.”
The day arrived and Ladakh embraced them with skies of orange and blue; there was a mesmerizing sunset against a stunning backdrop of a barren, cold dessert. There were impactful mountains, flowing blue streams and blooming greens punctuated by sheep, horses and beavers, all of which made for mesmerizing elements.
Talking about her favorite moments from the shoot, Tanvi says, “I was initially very camera conscious. Anmol and the team of Weddingrams brought me out of my shell and it turned out to be the most enjoyable and memorable experience of my life. I love the black-and-white clicks for their elegance and timelessness. Somehow, devoid of any color, they capture the true essence of the emotions of the moment. These pictures completely personified our bond and the joy we felt there together. I also love the picture we clicked with the local kids. It radiates fun, innocence and warmth.”
Talking about the challenges they faced during the shoot, she says, “The cold there was definitely hard to deal with as our wardrobes were very specific and didn’t help to combat the temperature or the winds of Pangong Lake. But the experience was worth so much more.”
Reflecting on her experience shooting, she gushes, “It was an unbelievable experience. Considering Anmol’s connection to them, they were like an extended family, but they still managed to balance that comfort with professionalism to give us the best experience.”
