Anina D’Cunha and Anik Ajmera’s wedding was a seamless fusion of elegance, emotion, and cultural richness, brought to life by the impeccable planning of WeddingSutra Favorite – Poonam Mayank Sharma. The celebration unfolded over two days, each one deeply reflective of the couple’s personalities and their vision for an intimate, soulful union. “We wanted each function to feel true to us by being elegant, classic, and rooted in tradition, but never overwhelming,” shared the couple.
The festivities began with a dreamy Christian ceremony followed by a reception. The ambience was set with soft pastel blooms and a luminous ceiling draped in crystal curtains, creating a fairytale setting steeped in romance. Anina’s ethereal ivory lehenga echoed the serene, timeless mood of the day. While here bridesmaids, dressed in muted tones, lit up the evening with spirited dance performances that reflected the joy of the occasion. A deeply moving element of the day was the presence of Anina’s mother, who not only stood by her daughter but personally ensured that every guest felt welcomed and cared for. “Her quiet strength and warmth gave the whole event an incredibly personal touch,” said Poonam, who worked closely with the family throughout.
The ceremony was elevated by the spiritual resonance of blessings and prayers led by the church father. As twilight descended, the celebration transitioned into a reception that sparkled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and impromptu dancing. Personalised wine and champagne bottles—curated especially for the couple—were a delightful touch, adding to the bespoke character of the evening. It was an unforgettable start, where love, elegance, and sentiment flowed freely.
The second day welcomed a vibrant shift with a traditional Hindu ceremony held in the verdant outdoor spaces of the hotel. Bathed in golden hour light, the setup radiated classic Indian grandeur with a refined twist. A highlight of the evening was the varmala ceremony, staged by the lotus ponds, where floating candles, mirrored surfaces, and hanging baubles created an ethereal atmosphere. The pheras were accompanied by live musical renditions, infusing the rituals with soul and stirring emotion. “The musical pheras added a completely different dimension,” reflected Poonam. “It was one of the most beautiful moments, visually and emotionally.”
Throughout the space, every detail was artfully considered, from candlelit pathways and lantern clusters to heritage accents. The night culminated in a celebratory dinner beneath the stars, where laughter and heartfelt conversations were had.
