A Thailand Wedding That Was A Carnival Of Spectacular Decor, Traditional Ceremonies And Non-Stop Celebrations

Karishma and Gautam’s extravagant wedding in Avani+ Hua Hin Resort in Thailand, saw fun-filled takes on traditional Sindhi customs and rituals. WeddingSutra Favorite – Revel Events, were entrusted to plan and execute the gorgeous wedding. The festivities were captured in breathtaking frames by another WeddingSutra Favorite – Anoop.Photography. Here’s a peek into the wedding functions.
Wedding Planning
“Once in a while you get the kind of wedding you dream of planning, where no stone is left unturned.” – Revel Events.
The bride had a clear vision of the wedding she wanted, yet was willing to experiment with new and unusual ideas. The couple chose the team of Revel Events to plan their fabulous three-day celebration in Thailand, with the decor executed by Design by Peerapach. The bride looked beautiful at all the events, her makeup done by Doll You Up by S. The photography and videography were undertaken by Anoop.Photography.
Wedding Functions
Behrano
Bamboo dancers welcomed the guests to the resort, where the gorgeous floral decor at the reception, pond and fountain enthralled them. There were also 3D butterflies and a structure of Lord Ganesh erected for an auspicious start to the celebrations. The festivities kicked off with a serene Behrano ceremony, which involves saying a prayer to invoke the blessings of Jhulelal Sai. It was attended by just the families and a few close friends of the couple.
Ghari Pooja
Day one began with the sacred and traditional thread ceremony for the groom, followed by Ghari Pooja for the couple. This was done in two separate prayer halls, which were individually set up for the two families. Both halls were decorated in floral themes – the bride’s consisted of pink and orange flowers and the groom’s had white and blue flowers with a touch of red.
Mehndi
The evening Mehndi function was held outdoors with the gorgeous azure sea providing a breathtaking backdrop. The party included an elegant British-style ‘high tea’, with beautiful floral vases, quirky and colorful tires and floral umbrellas providing a vibrant, upbeat ambience.
Welcome Dinner
A Latin-themed welcome dinner was a fiesta in every sense of the word. The dance floor was fashioned to look like a sombrero with the DJ in the middle, inside a life-sized cage! The party also featured a cellist! The decor incorporated a lot of greenery and interactive live elements, adding a ton of fun and entertainment for guests.
Wedding
The theme for the pheras was ‘Rajasthani Romance’. The decor was a surreal explosion of red and gold! The groom made an unusual entry on an ATV and then danced his way to the mandap, escorted by gorgeous female ‘bodyguards’! The crowd went wild and cheered him on. What followed was a regal procession for the bride, with men holding umbrellas, torches and fans. Her entry was truly royal and befitting of a princess. Karishma entered the venue with her four brothers, waving and high-fiving friends as she walked down the aisle. The pheras concluded with a group of dancers performing to the film song ‘Ghoomar’.
Sangeet and Reception
The evening sangeet and reception was in the form of an elegant cocktail party with a ‘Starry Night’ theme consisting of midnight blue, white and silver decor, punctuated with a plethora of candles and chandeliers. Amidst an evening that was filled with champagne and laughter, entertainment included a performer dancing inside a large martini glass! The bride and groom made a grand entrance, seated on a throne as the song ‘Mera Wala Dance’ played.
Pool Party
After a frenzy of festivities, the final day of the celebrations was reserved for unwinding. The day kicked off with a relaxing pool party that included a lot of entertainment and games for the guests. The decor was vibrant and inviting, with a carnival-style vibe.
Barbeque Dinner
The celebrations wound down with a farewell BBQ dinner hosted on the lawns. Guests got to enjoy a show of pictures and videos from the functions that took place on the previous days. The ambience at the outdoor party was romantic and elegant, using elements in white and fairy lights to decorate the area.
Couples Speak
The couple shared a few thoughts on their experience with Revel Events, saying, “Our wedding was beautiful and glamorous. The mood boards had looked beautiful, but to actually witness the beauty unfold was such a satisfying feeling. The flowers, decorations and lighting at each function were stunningly gorgeous.
