If Mumbai and Delhi host the ultimate power weddings, Hyderabad is the city of mega weddings—it is not uncommon to hear of atleast a few weddings every season where the list of attendees cross 10,000. There was one exception this season when Hyderabad-based Bajajs, a high profile couple co-hosted a destination wedding for their son Samarth (he married Sasha Rawal from Mumbai) at the new international hot-spot Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in Muscat. The A-list families of Hyderabad quip that atleast for a year or two, destination weddings will continue to be an exception in their circle. This week Gayatri Reddy promoter of IPL team the Deccan Chargers and daughter of newspaper baron T Venkattaram Reddy is tying the knot with Aneesh Bhatia from Delhi. Aneesh is an Air Asia stake holder and younger brother of Amit Bhatia who is married to steel tycoon LN Mittal’s daughter Vanisha.
