Aakriti and Aditya’s Platinum Day Of Love

Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ is a photo series featuring engaged couples who actively seek ideas and inspiration from WeddingSutra. The series celebrates the beautiful people in love as they start their lives together. Because real love can only begin, never end. Over coffee, a makeover and a photo shoot we get to-be-weds to share how they met, show us their platinum love bands and talk about their day of love.
To celebrate their platinum day of love, Aakriti and her fiance Aditya met us at the beautiful Novotel Mumbai Juhu. Nandini Advani ensured that Aakriti looked radiant throughout the shoot, and Orra helped add luster to the occasion with their beautiful platinum jewelry. The Photo Lab captured the candid moments in frames that the two will cherish forever.
Aakriti describes her serendipitous first meeting with Aditya, “The way we met is a funny story. Aditya’s cousin and I had met very briefly through a mutual friend who thought he and I would make a good pair. She suggested this to our common friend, and they decided to set the two of us up. I heard of their plan, and while I wasn’t up for anything serious, I didn’t mind meeting Aditya. Despite that, I dismissed the idea for that day since I was tired.”
Around 15 days later, Aditya and Aakriti met without the assistance of her cousin or their mutual friend. “Both Aditya and I were on the Hinge app and connected with each other. Initially, I had no idea that this was the same Aditya and he didn’t know it was me. We only discovered this after we had chatted for a while.”
Although the duo did not have marriage on their minds when they started seeing each other casually, they had very little say in matters of the heart and soon found themselves falling for each other. Over time Aakriti realized that Aditya was the one for her. She says, “Finding out that we were meant to be together, did not come as an epiphany. The more we spent time together, the more we felt we were right for each other. Aditya is not about grand romantic gestures, but he is very sensitive to others’ needs. He is balanced, courteous and never fails at making an effort to make things work out. He is just a beautiful human being which is what I love about him! When I visited him in Dubai this year for 20 days, I realized that the compatibility I shared with him was something I had never shared with anyone else. Before my trip, I thought I would never be able to live with anyone, but after the Dubai break, my view had changed. That sealed the deal for me.”
Aditya, too realized that it was time to take things to the next level and so he and Aakriti introduced their parents to each other. However, Aditya did not disappoint when it came to a romantic proposal. “Once our ‘roka’ was done, Aditya was getting ready to move back to India. I went to Dubai to help him pack. When I walked into his house, I saw that it was filled with red and white balloons. I wasn’t expecting it at all since the ‘roka’ was done already. I was in utter shock. His proposal was exceptional, and I was incredibly touched!”
Aakriti recalls, “It is not very often that you come across people who meet their partners the way Aditya and I did,” and adds that Platinum Love Bands truly resonate with their love story. “Made out of one of the more rare metals – platinum, these love bands, like our love story, are unique. The metal, of course, is rare and timeless, just like how any couple would want their relationship to be. More importantly, it is precious like the moments of togetherness that Aditya and I cherish. Lastly, they are packed with aesthetic appeal, and I love the rose gold embossing on these beautiful rings.”
Spending her day with WeddingSutra for its Love Actually photo shoot, she adds, “This was a fabulous experience! I loved Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach which offered stunning views. The Photo Lab team was great to shoot with as they were rather sweet and made sure that Aditya and I were comfortable. I was very happy with my hair and makeup as well. All in all, it was a day that I will never forget, and team WeddingSutra deserves a big shout out for that!”
