Aashay’s High-Flying Proposal to Ashna
Wedding Proposals - Aug 1, 2018
Just imagine this scene – the beautiful blue sky as your backdrop, a delightful sunrise and the perfect moment for a wedding proposal which will transport your partner to cloud nine. Now, this is all possible when you decide to propose just before heading on upwards on a hot air balloon which is exactly what Aashay did when he popped the question. Here they share highlights of this unique experience.
“Aashay and I met when we were working together in the same office and became friends. We started falling for each other over time and began dating. Now, we are stepping into the next stage of our relationship and making it a little more official,” shares Ashna.
Recalling the inspiration behind his idea to propose before a hot air balloon trip, Aashay adds, “Ashna once told me that she loved balloons and that she always lights up a lantern every New Year’s Eve to make a wish. Unfortunately, she missed out on doing so this year. I had fallen in love with her around the time she told me that, and I knew there was no one else I would want to spend the rest of my life with. So I decided to surprise her with a hot air balloon proposal so that her wishes could come true.”
Ashna elaborates, “Aashay and our friends planned a two-day trip to a place close to Mumbai. We were expecting to head out for an early morning safari the next day. Of course, there was no safari – instead, all I saw was a hot air balloon and Aashay on his knees with a banner that read ‘ Will You Marry Me?'”
Aashay shares, “The winter weather that day was just about perfect. Just before we were about to fly up, music started playing on the speakers close by. Ashna looked on to her left and saw a sign on a banner that read ‘Will You Marry Me?’ And when she turned towards me, I was already on my knees with a ring. She said ‘Yes’ and as we got on to the hot air balloon and rose up to rose 4000 feet, I knew life would never be the same again.”
