Adorned with natural and handcrafted decor elements, this fusion wedding in Muscat was luxurious yet grounded
Wedding Planning - Nov 13, 2025
Set against the serene beauty of Oman, Nadeem and Maris’s wedding was a heart-warming celebration of love, culture, and connection. Planned and designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – The Desi Pride, the festivities reflected the couple’s multicultural bond with a blend of artistry.

How They Met
Nadeem and Maris, residents of the UAE, share a beautiful cross-cultural love story that blossomed over seven years. With Nadeem’s roots in Middle East and Maris hailing from Northern Europe, their journey is a harmonious blend of traditions and values. What began as a friendship grew into a partnership – proof that love transcends boundaries and languages.
Wedding Planning
The couple entrusted The Desi Pride to bring their multicultural vision to life with thoughtful design and seamless planning. “We wanted each celebration to feel personal, intimate in spirit yet rich in detail,” shares Abhimanyu Kukreja from Desi Pride. “Our approach was to let authenticity guide the design with real flowers, handcrafted touches, and experiences that felt true to who they are.”
From the Mehndi’s gajra stations to the wedding’s thumbprint guest book and fresh flower petal cones, every element carried a personal touch. Guests enjoyed live performances, relished the signature gulab jamuns, and participated in experiences that blended warmth with innovation. The Nikaah remained soulful and simple, while the reception turned into a vibrant, music-filled celebration. The couple also thoughtfully segmented the guest experience: intimate sit-down dinners for family members and high-energy parties for friends, ensuring every guest felt seen, valued, and immersed in the joy of the occasion.

Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Hosted at home, the Mehndi was a colorful ode to tradition. Nadeem and Maris envisioned a desi-inspired, flower-laden setup that exuded joy and vibrancy. The design team brought this to life with 100% real blooms in vivid hues, cosy seating, and playful accents that encouraged laughter and dance. Since the celebration took place in April under Oman’s warm skies, thoughtful details like coolers with ice water ensured comfort throughout.

Wedding and Reception
For the main celebration, the couple imagined a rustic-chic setting that embodied understated elegance. Wooden textures, mason jars, and earthy tones blended seamlessly with natural floral arrangements, creating an atmosphere that felt grounded and warm. Honoring Nadeem’s wish, the dinner was set in a U-shaped layout for 200 guests, fostering intimacy and connection. “The brief was clear – no artificiality, no excess,” shares Astha Garg. “We relied on real florals, organic materials, and spatial harmony to design something timeless. It wasn’t about grandeur; it was about emotion.”

Advice For Couples
“Stay true to yourselves,” say Nadeem and Maris. “Focus on what truly matters to both of you rather than trying to please everyone. Balance tradition with fun. Let your wedding reflect your personalities while honoring your roots. Remember, décor adds beauty, but it’s the laughter, love, and memories that truly endure.”
