Akanksha and Karan’s Platinum day of Love
Love Actually, Pre Wedding Photoshoots - Sep 12, 2018
Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ features engaged couples and capture beautiful moments between them. The series celebrates people in love as they start their lives together. Over a fabulous makeover and a photo shoot with Divine Mantra, we get these couples to share how they met, capture the rare connection they share and talk about their day of love.
Freshly baked bread, artisanal sweet treats, the best smoothies in town and a pleasant spot to nosh alfresco; nothing describes Akanksha and Karan’s perfect day better than this. Staying true to the theme of their romance, we met this couple at New Delhi’s most scenic outdoor location, Lodhi Gardens.
Akanksha and Karan’s serendipitous meeting left them no choice but to believe in the workings of fate. “The first time Karan and I met, it was in the lift of the building my family and I had just moved into. Both of us had been to the same school and the same college but we had no idea about it. Had we not found an apartment in this building, the two of us would have never met,” says Akanksha, “It was as if, there was a higher force that was determined to make us cross paths!”
When the two finally met, Akanksha instantly knew! “A strong voice in my head told me that he was the one I was going to marry. There is no way I could explain it because the only thing that I knew about him at that time was that he looked great!”
Akanksha’s instincts were spot on. The two got to know each other better and found themselves falling deeper in love. “He used to have a bad temper just like I did. Needless, to say, a balance had to be brought in order to create a relationship which is healthy and long-lasting. So he decided to work on his temperament. He didn’t have to announce it but his efforts were visible. This is only a small example of how well he understands me. He stands up for me every time I need him. What else could a girl want? Akanksha says, “It is not every day that you find someone who would strive so hard to change who they are at their core, which is what makes our bond so rare, just like Platinum. We have come a long way since we began and all throughout, our relationship was not just our means of mutual support but also fodder for individual growth.”
Karan: I want to walk with you in the dappled sunlight.
Akanksha: And I would like to be carried like I got carried away in love!
And that’s how the sun rose on Akanksha and Karan’s Platinum Day of Love.
It’s a relationship that is about learning from each other and leaning on each other.
Akanksha: A little bit of France is a capital idea!
Karan: And the sweetest doughnuts for my favorite girl!
Akanksha: The doughnuts were delightful, but I have to admit, you’re probably sweeter than those.
Karan: I am. Now return the favor and share the rest of your smoothie with me.
Just when the moment was right Karan surprised her once more!
Karan: I love picnics and desserts. But if there is anything that I love more, it is enjoying those with you.
A precious platinum band, for a love that has no end.
Akanksha: This day is better than anything I could have ever imagined.
Karan: Then you should be prepared to be surprised every day for the rest of your life!
And so the sun set sweetly on today’s love story.
But it was only the beginning of their life together, bonded forever by Platinum Love Bands.

Through all of that, the integrity of our bond was tested, and severely, might I add. There have been a few other incidents and instances that put our relationship to test, but together, we always came out with flying colors! These little barriers showed us that not only was our bond strong, but also something that was truly meant to be treasured, much like precious jewels that are crafted using this metal.” Akanksha said.
The day was made more special by some WeddingSutra Favourites who were on their toes all day ensuring everything at the shoot was just perfect. While makeup artist Supriti Batra was always ready with her arsenal to fix a stray hair or touch up the powder, Jalandhar Jewellery House extended some of their most exquisite platinum pieces to play centre stage to this story of love. And all the beauty and magic of the day was preserved in gorgeous frames by Divine Mantra.
