Paris crackles with an electricity – history, modernity, a fine aesthetic – all come together creating a chemistry you can feel. Romance and all the tingling we associate with it – it’s really in the air.
So it’s no surprise that this city that elevates and arouses the senses is the perfect place to capture a love story – like Amrutha and Shayan did. Fresh from their wedding, the couple went out on a bright Parisian day and managed to create a photobook of wonderful emotions.
How We Met
Shayan and I work in the IT industry and Bangalore and had several friends in common, many of whom introduced us to each other. We developed a friendship at our first meeting and it grew into an indestructible bond of love. It’s been five years since we stumbled into each other’s lives and while fate led us to each other, we created our own destiny when we decided to get married. The 30th of July 2017 was a dream come true for us. We stepped into a lifetime of togetherness in the company of our nearest and dearest ones.
The Proposal
We share a birthday and Shyan proposed then. I thought he’d just made reservations for lunch but when we reached there, our friends were all there waiting. It was a surprise! He popped the question in front of everyone and it didn’t take me a moment to say ‘yes!’ Every day since then has been nothing short of a fairytale.
Post-Wedding Photoshoot
We’d planned a pre-wedding photo shoot, hoping to take pictures somewhere in India but we had to scrap the plan. We didn’t have time before the wedding. A little while later though, we realized Aashish, our wedding photographer was going to be in Paris at the same time we were, on our honeymoon. Talk about serendipity! We asked him if he had a day off to shoot us in Paris and he did!
What was even better was that Aashish has always wanted to do a couple-shoot in the City of Love so with us as muse, he went all out; concepts, outfits and research were all taken care of by him. Once he had done all the background work we just followed him around through the charming city and concentrated on looking pretty!
The experience was indescribable. We were very comfortable with Aashish because of which neither of us felt camera conscious. We were so pleased with the way everything fell into place and we had a dream day, doing a dream shoot in a truly dreamy destination!
