An intimate wedding that honored nature and the couple’s stories
Wedding Planning - Jan 28, 2026
From a Mehendi bazaar with bangles and jhumkas, to a couple’s entry on “Mr and Mrs Khiladi”, this wedding was full of heartfelt and spontaneous moments. When Yamini Mehra, a CSR and Sustainability professional with Arvind Limited, tied the knot with Chinar Bajaj, who runs a business in orthopedic implants and is also the founder of a pickleball academy, they wanted a wedding that was minimal on heavy production and allowed nature to shine through. This dream was brought into reality by WeddingSutra Favorite — Exotic Goa Events.

Wedding Planning
Seby Noronha of Exotic Goa Events shares that rather than opting for elaborate installations or heavy production, the focus was on thoughtful details, soft color palettes, and designs that would age gracefully.
Noronha adds, “The couple’s vision was clear from the outset: a celebration that felt classic, timeless, and intentional. They gravitated toward decor that allowed nature to shine—the ocean, greenery, and open skies of Goa formed the perfect backdrop. Rather than opting for elaborate installations or heavy production, the focus was on thoughtful details, soft color palettes, and designs that would age gracefully. Each function carried its own personality while remaining visually cohesive, allowing every moment to feel distinct yet connected.”
Cocktail Sundowner
The celebrations began with an intimate beachside cocktail sundowner, thoughtfully curated for close friends and family, with approximately 100 guests. This gathering was designed as a moment of connection before the larger festivities unfolded.
The evening featured heartfelt speeches from loved ones, easy laughter, and an atmosphere filled with warmth. Music played a defining role, with a DJ accompanied by live percussion, violin, and saxophone, creating a vibrant yet soulful soundscape. Dressed in all white, the guests added to the ethereal energy of the night, making it a truly magical beginning to the wedding celebrations.
Mehendi
The Mehendi was a joyful explosion of color, set in vibrant pinks and oranges. The Mehendi Bazaar was a thoughtfully curated space featuring bangles, jhumkas, haathphools, gajras and keepsakes. More than décor, it was an extension of Yamini’s personality, allowing guests to interact with and experience her love for detail and adornment in a playful, immersive way.

Sangeet
The sangeet was designed with a warm, cinematic sensibility, drawing inspiration from Bollywood rather than digital or high-production staging. Music, movement, and emotion took centerstage.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the couple’s entry. With no rehearsal or choreography, Yamini and Chinar walked in to “Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi”. The spontaneity and joy of the moment resonated deeply with the guests, making it one of the most talked-about highlights of the night.

Haldi
The haldi ceremony began with Yamini’s chooda ceremony, performed by her mama and his partner. While unconventional, this moment was deeply meaningful—honoring the importance that her mama’s partner holds in her life. The ceremony continued with a joyful haldi, filled with laughter, warmth, and playful moments—including the dropping of kalires on her bridesmaids, ensuring many weddings to come.

Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony unfolded as a sundowner beach ceremony. Yamini was walked down the aisle by eight of her brothers before taking the final steps alone toward Chinar—a moment both powerful and symbolic.
The ceremonies were guided by a female pandit who thoughtfully explained each ritual, from the pheras to the seven vows, allowing every guest to feel connected and present. The result was a ceremony that held the attention of all 200 guests—intimate, meaningful, and deeply moving.
