Anisha and Aviral’s pre-wedding photoshoot in magnificent Mumbai
Pre Wedding Photoshoots - Nov 3, 2017
With three of the most iconic features of Mumbai – the Gateway of India, The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and the Arabian Sea as the backdrop, Anisha and Aviral’s pre-wedding photoshoot by Candid Wedding Stories was as memorable as these picture-perfect places.
How We Met
“Aviral and a cousin of mine have been family friends for a long time. In 2011, when she was visiting me in Mumbai she and Aviral happened to go on a Skype call. She asked me to say a ‘Hello’ to him somewhere in between their conversation. That’s where it all began. After that, we added each other on Facebook and slowly our chats become more frequent, and eventually, we started speaking on Skype too. In 2013, he came to Mumbai for an office meeting and both of us decided to catch up. Since this was the first time we were actually going to meet each other in real life, I was a little worried that it be awkward, but thankfully it was fine. There were no sparks flying between us at that time and it seemed more like two friends reuniting,” shares Anisha.
She adds, “By the end of 2014, needless to say, we had spoken a lot more and things took a turn the following year. In 2015 the same cousin was getting married and Aviral had flown down for the functions. One day, he told me that he had been hiding his feelings for me for too long. He shared that he really liked me and that we should start dating. I wasn’t expecting this at all and was rather skeptical about how dating would work out since ours would be a long-distance relationship. But I did like him too and decided to give it a shot anyway. Eventually, our feelings for each other grew stronger. After a while into the relationship, his parents came over to visit and suggested to my mother that the two of us get married. Again, I had not seen this coming. However, both of us loved each other and so that served as the official seal to our new beginning.”
Proposal
“Aviral had come to Mumbai a week before our ‘roka’ ceremony was due to take place. He had planned a dinner for the two of us at Casa Blanca, which is a private dining room for couples at The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai. The evening unfolded beautifully! We were seated at one of the finest dining rooms in the city, with a stunning view of the Arabian Sea and the iconic Gateway of India. We relished our delicious meal and sipped on chilled champagne. Just then, he went down on one knee and proposed to me. Everything about his proposal was perfect!”
Pre-Wedding Shoot
“Choosing The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel as the venue for our pre-wedding photoshoot was a no-brainer. This popular Mumbai hotel is very close to both our hearts. Aviral stays there whenever he visits Mumbai, and we typically caught up with each other at one of the hotel’s dining outlets or some other eatery around that area whenever he flew down. The hotel was the place where we had our first date, and we also hosted our ‘roka’ ceremony there.”
“Once we were sure that we wanted to go ahead with this pre-wedding shoot, I went all out searching for the perfect photographer. It was important that this person not only capture the two of us well, he or she should also be able to do justice to the beautiful architecture and surroundings of the landmark hotel. When we met Manish of Candid Wedding Stories and saw his work, we were convinced that he would do justice to both and he didn’t disappoint. Shooting with him was so easy. He made sure there was no awkwardness even for shots for which we were required to kiss. We wanted it to be a fun shoot where both of us were just being our natural selves and Manish’s approach was of great help. He made us feel very comfortable which turn resulted in great pictures!”
