Anissa and Armaan’s pre-wedding photo shoot at his ancestral home was all things vintage and wonderful

Childhood sweethearts Armaan Jain and Anissa Malhotra played with black and white for their pre-wedding photo shoot, and the results were enchanting thanks to WeddingSutra Favorite – Sam and Ekta who captured their natural personalities in beautiful frames.
Aspiring actor Armaan Jain who belongs to the illustrious Kapoor ‘khandaan’ (family) of Bollywood, got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Anissa Malhotra in July this year. Anissa is a Mumbai-based fashion blogger and marketing consultant by profession.
Armaan, who is cousins with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, went down on his knees and popped the big question to Anissa in the presence of their loved ones. He shared the photos on Instagram with a long note, parts of which stated, “The moment I eagerly waited for since the last seven years has finally arrived. Everything I rehearsed flew out of my mind. I finally realized what my yoga teacher said when he meant to go blank and be in the moment. Thank you for being my backbone, pillar of strength and sticking with me through thick and thin. My Armaan was to be with my Anissa forever, and you said ‘YES’. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you!”
The duo then planned a dreamy pre-wedding photo shoot at Armaan’s maternal grandparents’ home, where he grew up, which made the location all the more special for the couple. Anissa recalls, “We decided to follow a vintage theme. I wore a white lehenga and Armaan wore a black tuxedo. These are colors we won’t be able to wear on our wedding day so we thought it would be nice to play with that color palette for the shoot. It was such a fun and easy shoot – no posing, just being us!”
So what was the planning process like for the pre-wedding photo shoot? Anissa says, “We discussed different mood boards and references which Sam and Ekta shared with us. But in terms of the actual planning, Armaan and I both just dumped all our stuff in our suitcases and decided to go with the flow. When we started shooting, the only challenge we faced was getting all the shots done before the sun went down as we started the shoot late in the afternoon thanks to Armaan who insistently kept feeding everyone before the shoot.”
When asked about their experience, Anissa shared that it was unbelievable for her and Armaan. “ I think it was due to the fact that we were really enjoying ourselves more than anything, we were so stress-free. We left it all up to Sam and Ekta to capture us as ourselves and they absolutely nailed it. Their eye for detail and the way they captured everything so cinematically was awesome. More so, they are such wonderful people and it was like working with friends. We felt so comfortable with them and enjoyed every moment of the shoot.”
Thanks to the childhood sweethearts for treating us to their lovely photoshoot results, and we can’t wait to see their wedding pictures already!
