Anjali and Kyle’s Stunning Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot in Goa

Lazily sprawled on the west coast of India, Goa, the sunshine state, is famous for its wide sweeping bays, rocky headlands, small coves with giant boulders, Portuguese and Maratha forts and an unparalleled variety of spectacular beaches. It’s no surprise that loved-up couples end up gravitating towards this state whose beauty strikes you at every corner, with its picturesque landscape, iconic monuments, relaxed vibe and gorgeous combination of art, history and nature. It’s the perfect canvas to paint a picture of love on and so when Anjali and Kyle fell in love with it, they decided Goa would be the backdrop for their pre-wedding shoot captured by The Creative Lens.
The couple shares their beautiful journey of love and highlights from the shoot.
How we met
“We met while teaching at the same school – Vega School in Gurgaon. We spent some time together informally outside of school, and we started enjoying each other’s company. That is how it all started.”
The Proposal
Kyle says, “There was a formal proposal and it took place at Roots (in The Park) near the Kingdom of Dreams. It’s where we had our first date. Anjali had no idea, and it was the first time we had gone to Roots since our first date. A couple of close friends were there to help with the surprise. Anjali typically helps me with my Hindi and I told her that I needed help to translate something. I wrote the proposal in Hindi and asked her to translate the way she always does with most of my work.”
Anjali remembers, “He was on his knees for a good while as I was busy crying and digesting the fact that he’s proposing marriage!”
Pre-Wedding Shoot
“Planning for the pre-wedding shoot was simple,” Anjali says, “We love Goa and we usually stay at a friend’s home there. So we decided to get a photographer in Goa, and make it happen! We saw The Creative Lens on WeddingSutra of which I am an avid follower. We loved the pictures and booked tickets for Goa to coincide with my birthday. Over the next few days, we had discussions with Shweta and Soumak to decide on the locations and attire.”
Kyle says the couple wanted less formality in the pictures, “So we got pictures of us exercising, in the pool, on the ferry – being by the ocean we wanted to try a bunch of new things and also enjoy the experience of the shoot, just the two of us. Anjali wore no make up and we were doing quick clothing changes as we drove across Goa. It was slightly challenging but then we really got into it.”
The couple enjoyed Old Goa the best, Kyle says, “We laughed a lot and made fun of ourselves and enjoyed it. Anjali and I were very thankful to have Soumak and his team photograph our pre-wedding shoot. The comfort levels and patience he gave us brought out the best in our pictures. We’d recommend The Creative Lens‘ expertise and creativity to anyone, but the care and appreciation they gave to Anjali, and I was truly special.”
