Barbie & Ken reprise their timeless romance in this fun photoshoot by WhatKnot!
Wedding Photography & Films - Jun 18, 2020
Barbie and Ken – these are household names for almost everyone who grew up playing with these dolls. The duo embodied perfection, and millions of little girls grew up wanting a ‘Ken’ as their partner.
Thanks to WhatKnot’s adorable concept shoot celebrating this evergreen couple’s love, we can revisit the magic of our childhood once more. The WhatKnot team share a tongue-in-cheek account of what transpired during this photoshoot and were at their creative best when imbuing the two dolls with distinct personalities almost as if they were a real-life couple.”
“We got in touch with Barbie and Ken on Amazon and instantly hit it off. After 10 minutes into our conversation, they were convinced about the idea of a ‘Couple Photo Shoot.’ Shooting with global celebrities like them had been on our wish list for a long time but never really had the courage to approach them. But we are glad that we mustered up the courage and did this.”
“Being sealed in their boxes, they were open to ideas revolving around an outdoor shoot. We told them about the lockdown and about the specific areas we could head to. They were kind enough to understand and agreed to our plan.”
“Their chemistry was breathtaking and they smiled for us every now and then. It all started with a little stroll in the garden followed by some shots lying down on the grass. We then headed to a little lake nearby where they sat and chatted. They had a lot of catching up to do since they were packed in different boxes. We didn’t disturb them. They held hands and enjoyed each other’s company.”
“After a short break, we got a few more pictures of them in city lights before calling it a day. They were hell-bent on getting some silhouettes since they had heard so much about us getting one every single time and we happily obliged.”

PS: Barbie was a little cross when her white stilettos caught some mud at the lake but all’s well that ends well.”
Did that evoke some wonderful memories?
