Best Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot Locations in Thailand
Pre Wedding Photoshoots - Oct 17, 2018
Thailand is one of the hottest travel destinations in the world and for good reasons. Right from their hassle-free visa policies to the authentic culinary delights, there seems to be no end to all that the ‘Land of Smiles’ has in store for visitors. It’s also the perfect destination for a dreamy pre-wedding photo shoot, and it helps that Thailand is not too far from India. From idyllic beaches, verdant hills, modern architecture, ancient historical sites – the tropical paradise offers it all. We asked some photography experts for their recommendations of places in Thailand that offer interesting backdrops for stunning pre-wedding photo shoots. Here, they share their top picks as well as smart tips.
Bangkok – CoolBluez Photography
Surpreet Kaur of CoolBluez Photography shares why the Thai capital of Bangkok makes for such a great photo shoot location. “Being a busy city with lots of cultural elements, Bangkok has loads to offer for a pre-wedding shoot. Couples can go on a boat tour on the Chao Phraya river. And if they plan their shot in the early hours of the day, they will find an endless number of boats carrying fresh flowers which collectively make for a gorgeous backdrop. The city tour takes you around the famous landmarks, and you can hop on and off to click beautiful pictures here. Asiatique The Riverfront, which is an open-air mall, is one of the spots that I am fond of. This place is full of life and a great choice for those who want the cityscape to be a part of their pictures. Do keep in mind that you will need permissions to shoot here and the best time to shoot will be before all the restaurants open for business. My team and I have shot at Millennium Hilton Bangkok too, and the panoramic views from the rooftop there seems never-ending. Lastly, if you want to give your pictures a tropical resort-like feel, stay at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort that overlooks that river, and the property itself is gorgeous too.”
Krabi – Twogether Studios
Photographers Arjun and Prerna Kartha of Twogether Studios find that pictures clicked in Krabi always have something special to them. They share, “Krabi is fairly off the beaten track which makes it a great option for couples who want to avoid the more ‘done’ locations in and around India. Also, its stunning landscapes and emerald waters make it a visual treat for photography.” They throw light on a few of the places in Krabi that offer some of the best vistas around. “No shoot at Krabi is complete without a trip to Railay Beach! The distinctive rock formations and abundant greenery make it a lovely spot to shoot in. Also, the Emerald Pool, Ao Nang Beach (and if you have the time, Phi Phi Islands) are must-see places in Krabi. Our top tips for couples planning a photo shoot in Krabi would be to always to wear sunscreen, keep itineraries relaxed and avoid trying to cover too many places in a short span of time.”
Phetchaburi – Navin Varma Photography
Photographer Navin Varma suggests Phetchaburi which is located around 100 km from Bangkok. It is ideal for couples who want to infuse their photo shoot with natural beauty. He explains, “Phetchaburi is a picture-perfect locale that combines the beauty of the sea and the hills. However, that is not all as the area also offers temples, palaces, and cave shrines, thus giving couples ample room to shape the concept of their photo shoot as per their liking. A large part of Phetchaburi remains unvisited by tourists, and I consider these the best parts! Phetchaburi makes for the perfect place for couples who want something unique as well as sights that have a historical quality and aura about them.”
Pattaya – Infinite Memories
Pattaya which is a bustling city on Thailand‘s eastern Gulf coast is photographer Mohit Goel of Infinite Memories‘s recommendation. He shares, “Amazing weather, stunning skyline, and crystal clear beaches – what’s there to not like about Pattaya! Moreover, these three elements play a vital role in ensuring great photographs. The Coral Island, floating market and walking street in Pattaya offer scenic nature, traditional Thai aesthetics, and thriving nightlife respectively. Couples can pick and choose places that serve the concept and themes of their shoot the best. However, no matter which location they lock down, they must keep drinking lots of water and carry something to eat so that they don’t get drained during the shoot in case they don’t find something that they would like to eat locally.”
