Bhagyashree and Dhruv’s Platinum Day of Love
Love Actually, Pre Wedding Photoshoots - Oct 14, 2019
Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ features engaged couples and captures beautiful moments between them. The series celebrates people in love as they start their lives together. Over a fabulous makeover and a photoshoot, we get these couples to share how they met, document the rare connection they have and talk about their day of love.
In the bestseller, ‘A Walk To Remember,’ Nicholas Sparks, one of the world’s favorite novelists, asked, “Do you ever wonder why things have to turn out the way they do?” We do. Destiny has a way of bringing together the most unlikely people at the most unlikely times. And then, their union is so natural, so effortless, you begin to believe that the two souls must have been connected from an earlier time.
Bhagyashree and Dhruv met via an arranged marriage introduction. Dhruv was already very wary about the prospect of marrying a ‘stranger’ but he hesitantly messaged Bhagyashree on Instagram. Soon after, their messages began to flow back and forth. It took no time for the two, to become thick as thieves when texting. After a while, they decided to meet in person.
Bhagyashree says, “We met only once and that was it. We knew that we were ready to take the leap. I guess this is the feeling people call love.”
However, it wasn’t a cakewalk for the two to stay strong through the odds of a long-distance relationship. With Dhruv being in Udaipur, and Bhagyashree in Mumbai, the couple, although madly in love with each other, missed the little pleasures of their new, slowly-blossoming relationship like holding hands, strolling by the beach and relishing romantic dinners. Distance brought along its own troubles which often led to misapprehensions, squabbles and falters. However, understanding, trust and love became the signposts that guided them. Bhagyashree adds, “Although distance kept us far from each other, the love, respect and trust we had ensured that we remained close at heart. When we were together in person or even talking over the phone, we were completely engrossed or lost in each other. We do stumble, make mistakes, say stupid things, but in the end, it’s all about understanding and supporting each other. Our egos are kept aside even when we fight or argue and this fosters a deep sense of caring for each other.”
But again, what about holding hands? Or being able to take a quick lunch-break together? Or a walk in the park, talking about silly things, looking at the same sky. Long-distance does bring along with itself its own set of difficulties. Bhagyashree, guilty of being a hopeless romantic, longed to spend these special moments with her partner. However, distance indeed had its role to play and kept the two from indulging in these little happy treats. But then, isn’t this exactly what made the couple’s love special? While distance and time had their way of keeping the two hearts apart, a rare connection was building between the two, despite all the woes, only due to the immense love, trust and understanding they had for each other.
Dhruv, however, knew Bhagyashree was a die-hard romantic and he wanted to compensate for all the missed little moments missed with a grand gesture. So he came up with a plan.
He decided to surprise Bhagyashree with a romantic proposal. He suggested lunch and a relaxed walk around town. He wanted to indulge her in all the ordinary yet special moments that couples share every day. However, right amidst all the ordinary and mundane activities that they planned to indulge in together that day, Dhruv also wanted to steal away a special and rare moment that would define that day as their ‘day of love’. He picked up the most beautiful Platinum ring he could find to propose Bhagyashree with, an elegant keepsake of their Platinum day of love.
They walked around the town, hand in hand, exchanging sweet-nothings with each other.
They end up in front of one of Mumbai’s most famous street-art displays. “I love how these paintings are as vibrant and beautiful as our love!” Bhagyashree says.
As Bhagyashree looks at all the art, Dhruv is looking for the perfect moment to tell Bhagyashree how much he loves her!
Happy and contented, she looked him in the eye and said, ‘This is one of the most memorable days of my life.”
Like destiny, the moment arrived and all he had to do was make the most of it! He went down on one knee saying, “I love how special our bond is and I want to feel this way every minute of my life. Would you be mine forever?”
Surprised and charmed, Bhagyashree’s happiness knew no bounds!
Overwhelmed with feelings, she was bound to say a ‘yes!’
She was excited like never before and couldn’t stop swooning over the Platinum Love Band.
