A breathtaking pre-wedding shoot in Gulmarg, Kashmir!

After keeping the flame alive over a long distance, for three whole years, Anchal and Anish rekindled their love in a classic, romantic pre-wedding shoot against backdrops of snow-capped mountains, idyllic landscapes, rich architecture and the glistening waters of Gulmarg, Kashmir. Captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Weddings by Knotty Days, the pictures flawlessly paint their happiness and excitement from behind the lens. Here, the groom-to-be shares some highlights of his experience.
How we Met
“Anchal and I met at BITS Pilani. We were both pursuing Electrical and Electronics Engineering and were in the same class. However, as destiny had it, we only spoke for the first time during the last week of the last year. But we were inseparable. During our conversations, I happened to mention my passion for photography and to my delight, I found the perfect model who enhanced each serene backdrop that BITS provides. Our 6 a.m. photography sessions were the reason our relationship blossomed and here we are today, 8 years down the line, all ready to tie the knot!”
The Proposal
“While I am currently settled in Delhi, Anchal works in Sydney. Still, the distance and time difference was never an obstacle for us. I flew into Sydney every 2 and a half months and during one such trip, I decided to pop the question! I picked the stunning Manly Beach on an overcast Saturday hoping for an empty beach and that’s exactly what we got! With only two lifeguards as a witness, a light drizzle, and the mesmerizing sound of the waves in the background, I went down on one knee only to look up at the smile my heart beats for!”
Pre-wedding Photoshoot
“In the beginning, our planning was all over the place. Anchal and I couldn’t find a destination that was both unique and adventurous. Imagining picturesque snow-capped mountains as backdrops, we explored everything in the vicinity of Delhi, including Pokhara (Nepal), Bhutan, Pelling (Sikkim) and even stretches of the North East. However, with our pre-wedding shoot scheduled for December, the logistics seemed difficult. Just when we were resigning ourselves to more convenient places like Delhi or Goa, Nikhil came in! He suggested two places that reveal the true beauty of nature in India, Srinagar and Gulmarg. A pre-wedding shoot in Kashmir! We couldn’t have imagined better!”
“Weddings by Knotty Days not only helped us coordinate with each other but also suggested outfits as per the location. We went with absolutely no confidence, no theme and zero poses in mind, but returned with memories and pictures we’ll always treasure. Given the extreme warmth and care Nikhil and his team treated us with, it took us no time getting candid in front of the camera.
