Bridal Make Up Trends To Look Out for this Season
Bridal Fashion and Beauty - Sep 4, 2017
On your wedding day, a momentous, once-in-a-lifetime event, attention to detail is key. Only the most beautiful clothes and the finest jewellery will do and you spend months working each look to perfection.
Your make-up however, will be done on the day. But it doesn’t mean you don’t have to plan in advance for this too. From the range of looks, color palettes and piques to trends both traditional and post-modern to the quality of cosmetics and techniques, you have a lot to discuss and decide upon.
To make sure you look like a dream as you say ‘I do’, we bring to you comments and updates from some of the best makeup artists on what’s hot and what’s not.
1. Tanvi KG
This season, rose gold, burgundy and plum are the go-to colors for bridal wear. Therefore, their makeup will have to be complementary in terms of opulence and tone. Look for hues in those palettes. Another tip – for me, dramatic lashes are a big no-no. They look jarring. Instead, I love using individual lashes to subtly enhance the glamor of a natural look.
2. Taniyaa Khanna
Looking flawless and radiant never goes out of style but there’s a certain freshness to this wedding season. So what you need to focus on is impeccable concealing. Color blending on the eyes and lips are techniques gaining momentum. I’ve used this on brides and it brings a wonderful radiance.
3. Bina Punjani
The trends are clearly moving away from heavy make-up and we’re now looking at a sophisticated, natural, fresh-faced bride. The idea is to not draw attention to the makeup but to subtly enhance the most flattering features and draw attention away from the not-so-strong ones. Our aim here was to highlight to the bride’s striking eyes, while maintaining a dewy look.
4. Farah Shah
The “less is more trend” is in full swing this wedding season. Youthful brows, glowing complexion, red lipstick with orange undertones and a cat eye flick is the classic look for 2017. Wear this with confidence and let your glamorous self shine brightly under the spotlight!
5. Vrinda Makhija
The no makeup look is the way to go this year. Subtle eyes and soft lips with healthy glowing skin that appears to be lit from within is something we should aspire to this year. This ‘ethereal beauty’ getup has been on the radar of several international style icons and makeup artists, and has received an overwhelming response from the masses too.
6. Shamita Gogia
I’m not a trend following makeup artist because I like to sit my clients down, understand how they approach makeup on a daily basis and help them look different yet their most beautiful selves on their big day. However, highlights, dewy skin and subtle contouring are going to be big this season.
7. Zorains Studio
The trend for the next bridal season is realism where the foundation exudes an airbrush finish and the eyes use more neutral tones. In fact, even the bronze and yellow gold are giving way to the lighter champagne gold. A hint of pop color in shades of pink can be used, however, but only a smidge. The composite appearance we are looking for this season is closer to the natural face of the bride.
8. Afsha Rangila
The “no makeup” makeup reigns in the fashion industry this season. Embrace the basics and own them. This means simpler hairstyles accompanied with soft romantic looks achieved using shades of pinks and peaches for the lips. For the eyes, I would recommend ditch the elaborate wings for the classic tiny flicks.
9. Glossnglass by Geeta and Dipanwita
Smokey eyes created using monochromatic tones and displaying perfect gradation are the highlight this season. The combination of soft and sparkly metallic textures helps adds a distinctive dimension to the eyes. You’ll stand out against the more muted trends and be the talk of the town this wedding season!
10. Yogesh Sharma
The forecast for bridal makeup this season is well-defined eyes, soft lip colors and a nude palette for the face. A smooth finish and makeup au naturel is what this season is going to bring out in the brides.
