Capturing New Angles of Romance in Paris – the ‘City of Love’
Pre Wedding Photoshoots - Jan 21, 2019
The magic of the French capital – Paris – draws couples from all around the world to experience a new dimension of romance that can be found only in the ‘City of Love.’ While Kiran and Guneet were no different in their desire for a dreamy backdrop, their photoshoot in the Capital of Romance was unlike any other. With perfect composition and timeless styling evident in each of their pictures, the results were remarkable. Kiran shares with us their story and highlights of their photoshoot.
How We Met
“It all started at the beginning of 2012 at university, in Birmingham, UK. I moved all the way from Canada to study abroad, and in my second semester there, I met Guneet. He and I were introduced to each other through friends, and as cliche as it sounds, it was love at first sight. We immediately clicked with each other.”
Proposal
“We knew early on that we wanted to be together forever, but Guneet still made the proposal special for me. I’ve always dreamt of living in central London, and Guneet and I had been looking at places to buy for us to live in someday. Guneet bought us our future home, and on the day he was given the keys, he took me to the flat. When we entered, I saw flowers strewn all over the floor and candles to add to the mood, and right then he asked me to marry him with his mother’s beautiful ring.”
Pre-Wedding Photoshoot
“After toying with a few different ideas for the engagement shoot, finding out if we want to do it in London or abroad, looking through many inspirational photos and speaking with our photographer, we decided on a European destination. Paris, the most romantic city we could think of, fit the bill perfectly. It was convenient to get to, and we didn’t need a permit for photography! We let our photographer, Zohaib, take the lead. We love sun-filled, dream-like images in general, so we did most of the shooting during sunset and sunrise. It was all about getting the perfect light, in the ‘City of Lights!’ We spent the day soaking up the scenery and getting the perfect clicks, and by the end of it, we were all exhausted. I’m not complaining though as on seeing the images, it was worth more than the sleeplessness.”
“While we enjoyed the entire experience, the moments that stuck out to us were the ones we spent shooting at the Louvre Museum. We shot for about an hour quite late at night, and the setting was so surreal. The whole place was lit up beautifully, the air was warm, and we were under the stars. We were the only people around in one of the most iconic spots in the entire world, it felt like a dream!”
