While the whispers all hinted at Greece, it has been confirmed that one of Bollywood’s most eligible bachelors, Shahid Kapoor, will get married at The Oberoi in Gurgaon.
The wedding invitation card is simple and elegant, accompanied graciously by a box of Anandini Himalaya Tea. Quite our cup of tea indeed!
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput will tie the knot at The Oberoi in Gurgaon’s Udyog Vihar on July 7. The invitations have been sent out by Mira’s parents– Bela and Vikramaditya Rajput, and Shahid’s parents Neelima Azim and Pankaj Kapur and step mother Supriya Pathak. They’ve also asked that no gifts be given, ‘only blessings’.
The media grapevine buzz is that the newly weds will host a post-wedding reception in Mumbai on July 12. But if it is true, the venue is a mystery. Perhaps the couple will choose Bollywood’s favorite wedding reception venue Taj Land’s End or the JW Marriott, Juhu. We made discreet enquiries at several city five-stars but they’re being tight-lipped for now.
What is also still a mystery is why Greece was ever suggested or rumoured to be the wedding destination. Perhaps the to-be-weds were planning a pre-wedding bash or toying with the idea of a vacation there?
It’s no secret that for the last two years, Greek Tourism officials and event planners have been working at getting a slice of the Indian-destination-wedding pie. While the beautiful Mediterranean country is a hotspot for ‘proposals’, pre-wedding shoots and honeymoons, it’s still a virgin territory for big fat Indian weddings.
Our stylista spies tell us Shahid has chosen his close friend Kunal Rawal to get him groom-ed and Mira’s trousseau will be designed by Anamika Khanna.
