A Day with WeddingSutra Favorites – Saloni Khandelwal
WeddingSutra Favorites - Sep 26, 2019
‘A Day With WeddingSutra Favorites’ is all about WeddingSutra bringing its wedding planning enthusiasm and expertise to excited to-be weds. We customize a program for one lucky WeddingSutra reader, which includes visiting a specially curated list of wedding service providers, wedding couturiers and other specialists. This process has turned out to be invaluable for couples planning their wedding.
Bride-to-be Saloni shares her day’s experience and the invaluable perspectives she gained for her wedding planning process.
Stop 1: DNA Jewellery
A bride’s wedding look is incomplete without spectacular jewellery that makes her feel like royalty on her special day. Saloni’s journey began with exploring a range of ornate silver wedding ornaments at DNA Jewellery. She shares, “I was instantly awed by the wide range of traditional and contemporary designs fit for every kind of loom. What amazed me was the grandeur of the bridal pieces that oozed the opulence of higher precious metals such as gold and platinum, but were actually crafted in pure silver that made them easier on the pocket, without compromising on the overall look and feel.”
Stop 2: Ornamental Mithai
Sweets and celebrations go hand in hand. The next stop for the day was taste testing some of the choicest and delectable sweet creations at Ornamental Mithai. With a range of traditional sweets infused with contemporary flavours like “dark chocolate panjiri” and “red velvet peda,” encased in sophisticated packaging, these sweets make for great wedding favours, and are something unique to serve your guests.
Stop 3: Customizing Creativity
After an engagement, the first step in the wedding journey is the perfect invitation to invite loved ones for your wedding. At Customizing Creativity, Saloni explored the various invitation designs on offer that ranged from intricate traditional styles and elegant calligraphic creations to quirky and innovative themes. “Not only do they customize your invitations as per your vision, they also provide you with assistance and insights about what to incorporate according to your preferences and budget.”
Stop 4: Makeup Expert – Mariyum Nagani
The next stop was a beauty consultation with makeup artist Mariyum Nagani for some D-day inspiration. “Mariyum impressed me greatly with her expansive work portfolio on Instagram, and her styling knowledge. With a sound understanding of what works for different complexions and face cuts, she believes the trick to achieving the perfect bridal look is to work with what personally suits you, over what is most trending. She assessed my features and understood my preferences, and made some great suggestions”.
Stop 5: DreamCatchers Photography
“At their weddings, couples often spend more time posing for perfect pictures for their album instead of actually being present in their once-in-a-lifetime moments. For my wedding, I wanted a photographer who understood the importance of these moments and would capture our emotions in their raw beauty at just the right times. The DreamCatchers Photography team impressed me greatly in this regard. They capture the smallest nuances of your festivities in breathtaking detail, and know just when to give some space, and when to offer their expert opinions.”
Stop 6: WeddingSutra Charity Registry
The last stop for the day was an introduction to the newly launched WeddingSutra Charity Registry. A first-of-its-kind initiative by WeddingSutra, it empowers couples who are passionate about giving back to the community to choose from a range of NGOs, non-profit organizations and causes, to create a Charity Registry, to which Wedding guests from any part of the world can make credit card contributions as their wedding gifts. “I loved the idea that the most special day of my life could, in some way, help people in need, and become a special day for others too.”
