Designed with stunning floral setups and gilded metallic elements, this wedding decor was vivid and elegant!
Wedding Planning - Jun 2, 2023
Striking the right balance between subtlety and grandeur, this wedding celebration in Chennai boasted a breathtaking array of design elements. Designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – PetalsNDrapes, this union was a stunner to the very last detail!
Sowmya Rajaji from PetalsNDrapes shares, “The bride always wanted the couple to be the central focus of attention and wanted a subtle decor for the stage. The groom, however, was keen on an extravagant, drama-filled stage. To combine these almost polar ideas, we brought in different regal elements, like, a palace gazebo, and a fully functional fountain paired with a lush floral garden. The bride’s wish for subtleness came through with the monotones of the color palette in the sets. The Alcopanel used for the central element was specifically sourced to match the color tones of the set instead of the usual gold that is commonly used. The exotic colorful flowers that flowed through the set helped break the monotones.”
For their venue, the couple chose to host their celebration in Chennai itself where their loved ones could easily attend. Hailing from prominent families who are well-known in legal and medical circles, their wedding was a plush affair where everything had to be perfect. Chasing perfection was team Petal n Drapes who had to face multiple challenges along the way. But, with their skills and experience, the team ensured a timely yet beautiful delivery! Sowmya shares, “Although we were tensed that we got the venue three hours later than initially planned due to unexpected circumstances, it was really beautiful how the team came together and finished the set an hour prior by having all hands on deck. It was really a fulfilling experience- from designing to planning to executing on the day off, especially when the couple loved the outcome!
Additionally, having a gazebo in the design came out as a fabulous idea on paper until we needed to encounter the problem of how thousands of guests could maneuver through the stage.
As it’s a huge structure that had to occupy a considerable amount of width on the stage. In order to fix this problem, we designed a unique pentagon top that could be supported with just four pillars and took the least amount of space on the stage with respect to width. We made sure it still looked as magnificent as it needed to look with a tweak in its structure.”
