Destination One, a New Wedding Venue in Calangute, Goa

Last fortnight we were in Goa to attend the grand launch of Destination One, an integrated hospitality establishment in Calangute, North Goa. Rajesh and Soniya Srivastava and the other co-promoters of Destination One have conceptualised and designed it to be the perfect, enthralling venue for those seeking a very special place for a very special celebration or event. And when we talk about special celebrations, we are referring to weddings of course! Destination One are hoping to host many weddings and wedding-related functions, and so we spoke to Soniya Srivastava, the dynamic businesswomen from Noida who tells us more about the new demands in destination weddings, and how Destination One aims to be different.

“I got married at a grand palace in Jaipur some years ago; at that time many brides-to-be like me, dreamt of a royal Rajasthan wedding in a magnificent Palace. Weddings in Rajasthan will continue to be popular with Jodhpur and Udaipur being the hot spots, but now I’ve noticed many to-be-brides are equally enthusiastic about Beach Weddings. Our beach-facing sea-lawns are the perfect setting for brides and grooms looking to tie the knot in a breath-taking venue with the most tranquil settings.

Destination Weddings are all about very different celebrations. Chef Mohd Kaleem Qureshi, specializes in Indian Curries and finger licking Tandoor specialties, Masterchef Chef Son Boon Sriphirom specializes in Oriental cuisine, Chef Sabyasachi Gorai takes care of the European cuisine, along with Sommeliers Magandeep Singh and Gurjit Singh Barry.

Some to-be-weds may want a wow wedding celebration while some may want a stylish yet intimate celebration. Destination One understands that each wedding is different, and each couple have a different requirement.
