Expert Speak: Wedding Planner Priti Sidhwani of DreamzKrraft

Nearly two decades ago, DreamzKrraft was founded with an aim to create spectacular weddings with unforgettable moments for couples and their loved ones. With their deep understanding of the field and a network of excellent vendors, the team has managed to create amazing experiences for their clients.
Leading the company forward at each step of the way has been Priti Sidhwani, co-founder of DreamzKrraft. Her creativity and eye for detail always ensures that each aspect of every celebration is flawless. Be it designing, planning, decorating, or servicing, she overlooks it all, allowing the bride, groom and their families to focus on enjoying every moment of their special day.
In a conversation with us, she tells us about being an industry leader and creating magic.
DreamzKrraft is a successful name in the industry today. Can you shed some light on the beginning of your journey to being one of India’s top wedding planning and decor companies?
“Coming from a business family, I have always worked with close-knit business setups. With the inception of DreamzKrraft in 2002, we forayed into set design as well as film production. Along with many accolades for the work we did, requests for wedding decor began pouring in and that is when I began my journey into the wedding industry.
My very first project was an elaborate wedding held at Aamby Valley that had almost 20 different functions and I learned a lot during that time! The entire celebration was executed with precision and I was joyous when my hard work received wonderful feedback from my client and their family.
Gradually, with hard work and perseverance, DreamzKrraft has reached this position today. Growth is an integral part of the journey and I too have grown – from executing smaller events to those of a much larger scale. My dream is to not only take my company to the top but also keep working till I feel satisfied that I have given an event my all.”
What is the one important thing that you as an expert suggest to couples while they’re looking for wedding destinations?
“Destination weddings are trending nowadays and a lot of couples prefer choosing a new city to celebrate their special day. Important things to look out for in a location are its accessibility as well as character and uniqueness.”
Have you received any out-of-the-box or challenging decor or planning requests from couples?
“Yes, recently a client, while discussing his sangeet, talked about how he wanted me to recreate the Upside Down Museum of Singapore for this function! I thought this was quite an out-of-the-box request.”
What helps you design a wedding while keeping the essence of the theme as close to the couple’s vision as possible?
“Experience and a good sense of aesthetics go a long way in ensuring that the decor retains and reflects the essence of the chosen theme. Understanding the vibe of the couple is important too, and that helps us create weddings that depict their personalities. Besides these factors, the availability of resources, as well as the inventory we have, significantly affects what we can make of a celebration.”
As an industry expert, what are your favorite decor trends of 2019? And what trends do you suspect might become popular in the near future?
“The fusion of cultures, depicted through combinations of colors and themes is a decor style that is set to go big. Combining themes likes vintage chic and Oktoberfest for a white wedding, bringing together Greek art with Jaipuri blue pottery, uniting Persian elements with traditional zari-work fabrics for an indoor event, and other such concepts make the decor a great deal and more interesting.”
You’ve worked on multiple grand and high-profile weddings. How do you manage to raise the bar every single time?
“Every wedding is a learning experience that adds to our insight as each family comes with a different set of limitations, expectations, preferences and priorities. Our approach towards the nuptials we work on is very personalized. We engage with our clients to get clarity on how we can make their celebration extra special. This endeavor to create a unique experience each time encourages us to go into a realm of unexplored ideas in order to make something unique. In addition to this, we follow strict quality policies, backed by our know-how and experience.”
7. Which celebrity couple’s wedding would you like to plan? What theme do you think their wedding decor would have?
“We have worked on our fair share of weddings of celebrities as well as prominent personalities. I would say that for me every bride and groom is a celebrity in their own right. Not only that, they are even treated as such by us! We love to pamper our couples and we ensure that every input of theirs is taken into account so that their special day turns out perfect and just as they had imagined it to be.
It is important for me to execute ‘something unique’ for each couple; to add a personal touch and make special memories for them. Therefore, even for a celebrity, the theme would revolve around their personality and their love story.”
