Inspired by this regal way of storage, we decided to create bridal and trousseau trunks that not only boast of delicate handcrafted embroidery but also allows each bride to connect to her roots. However, that being said, we’ve also made sure to fuse traditional with contemporary designs in order to cater to the tastes of new-age brides.”
Crafted from the finest materials, each heirloom trunk from Puneet Gupta Invitations is a piece of art in itself with polki craft stones, zari, and jewel work crystals that adorn its surface along with gleaming brass fittings. Reflecting their admiration for India’s beautiful handmade craftsmanship, the Puneet Gupta Foundation, founded by Puneet Gupta, collaborates with local artisans to give each bride a regal and unique trunk. Giving a brief explanation of how each trunk is forged under the supervision of skilled artisans, Puneet Gupta explains, “Machine embroidery is a quick process, but nothing can replace the beauty of handmade embroidery. At Puneet Gupta Foundation, we work with artisans at the grass-root level and ensure that their art thrives by providing them with a steady livelihood. Every trunk has a variety of artisans working on it and their efforts can be seen in the end results itself.”
Revolving around a romantic tale that showcases the unifying of two worlds, each trunk expresses the undying perseverance of a woman’s spirit that stays strong despite the conflicts that come her way. As prints and intricate thread work depict classical Indian motifs on the exteriors of the trunk, the insides are covered with hand-dyed quilted fabric that snugly protects the items placed inside it.
