An Extravagant Pune Wedding with Traditional and Modern Events Planned by Ekta Saigal Lulla of ESL Events and Weddings by Ekta Saigal Lulla

With so many trending wedding decor options and themes, planning and executing a grand wedding that serves up something unique can be challenging. We spoke to Ekta Saigal Lulla, founder of ESL Events and Weddings by Ekta Saigal Lulla, and got some insights into all that goes into planning standout themes for every function.
Having recently organized a lovely, lavish five-day wedding in Pune, she and her team managed to pull off each function smoothly. Here, Ekta shares all that went into conceptualizing and crafting this extraordinary wedding.
At the start, the weddings team of ESL Events and Weddings by Ekta Saigal Lulla listed down all the preferences of the couple. Ekta shares, “My team began the operations for the Parakh wedding in Pune well in advance before the big day keeping in mind the whole concept and flow of the functions. We showcased the creativity and attention to detail that ESL Events brings to every wedding and event with passion and precision which guests tend to obsess over and admire.”

Jaap
“The theme for the Jaap ceremony was inspired by the ‘14 Dreams of Lord Mahavira’ and included simple decor. Group seating formats were laid out which set the mood for this spiritual ceremony where 51 ladies chanted prayers for the longevity of the couple. Another religious function followed the Jaap ceremony.”
Kumkum and Sangeet
“The rituals of the Kumkum and Chaak were to take place at a 5 star Hotel on the second day. The client wanted us to ensure that guests enjoy all the rituals as well as experience the authentic, soulful essence of the ceremonies. For this function, the bride and her sister took inspiration from different Ganesh idols they saw and got someone to create a huge Ganesha Tanjore as the highlight. In contrast to the religious ambiance of the day functions the couple wanted the sangeet to be a fun affair with an international flair. So they decided on a Dolce & Gabbana LED theme which was executed with flair for them. Rapper Badshah and Paris House Addict performed at the sangeet. The couple made a special entry at the event with a hip-hop dance troupe called Kings United India.”
Mehndi
“ An English garden theme for the mehndi ceremony. The focus was on adding the joy of freshness and color with a pretty decor palette of green, white and grey.”
Sajjan Goth
“In line with the traditions, special sitting arrangements were made for guests from the groom’s side. For this lunch, traditional Marwari cuisine was served to guests on gold thalis. This function took place at a 5 star hotel, and singer Jonita Gandhi regaled guests with her music as they relished the delicious food.”
Reception
“The reception decor was designed by Rohit Bal Luxury Weddings. A Victorian carriage was used for the couple entry. Amar Khandha and Symphony Band performed at this event. The ESL Events weddings team worked tirelessly to make the event work flawlessly. The decor was resplendent with regal spaces and subtle symbolisms that came alive with the use of deep colors, prints, patterns and old-world charm.”
Pheras
“The pheras were held in wee hours of morning. So rituals for the welcome and varmala ceremony were organized accordingly. The pheras became the emotional and spiritual highpoint for all the guests, and for the couple and their families. Renowned fashion designer Rohit Bal was the man behind the wedding design which his company Rohit Bal Luxury Weddings conceptualized beautifully. A Radha-Krishna Vrindavan-themed mandap made out of brass lotuses was one of the highlights at this auspicious ceremony. Singer Ameya Dabli performed at the pheras which added vibrant energy to the proceedings on this auspicious day.”
