Featuring a powder blue palatial facade and brimming with blooms – this couple’s walima decor was larger-than-life
Wedding Planning - Jan 2, 2025
Taking a cue from European architecture and using a variety of fresh blooms, this couple’s walima decor looked ethereal. Designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Bluewater Productions, each element was meticulously curated to reflect the couple’s tastes.
Sneha and Shahil from Bluewater Production share, “The groom’s family hosted the walima and the groom was clear from the get-go that he wanted something larger than life which would also be in tandem with the venue. Bengaluru Palace was the venue of choice and is known for hosting the most elite celebrations. Keeping this in mind, we came up with a unique design that made an instant impact.
We conceptualised ‘Blue Palace’ a modern-day palace fit for a young king. We borrowed elements from Indian and European architecture and designed a full palace façade. We chose powder blue as the base colour as the entire venue is a bright white and we wanted the palace to stand out. And, against this light pastel backdrop, we added a vibrant floral palette. Soft pinks, peaches, whites and finally blue flowers complemented the blue palace backdrop beautifully. Gold accents highlighted the minute panel details. The backdrop took over 45 days to design, after which a skilled ‘Fibre Artists’ team in Hyderabad created the structure in 2 weeks.
For the entrance, we had LED screens within arches and an LED view cutter with visuals of palatial gardens in motion. Raised lounges seated the immediate family and a casual lounge area around the gazebo gave guests plenty of space to relax.”
Weddings are more than just a celebration but also an expression of the couple’s tastes and an opportunity for them to showcase the love they feel for their close ones. In this case, the groom honored his father in a heartfelt way. Sneha and Shahil share, “The groom’s dad has a special fondness for flowers which led us to pay keen attention to the floral setups. After the event, the groom’s dad thanked us personally for the beautiful work. We were so happy that we couple be a part of this special moment in their lives.”
