Flaunting a palette of yellow, ivory and orange – this couple’s garden-based mehndi was an ode to the bride’s love for classic Indian styles
Wedding Planning - Jul 1, 2024
Exuding casual elegance while honoring traditions, Sachi Holla and Aditya Sukhia’s union was a sunkissed affair designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Mogra By Namita. Using a plethora of blooms, printed textiles and gilded elements, the celebrations were whimsical with clever touches of personalisation.
Giving us an overview of the festivities and the design story that the team followed to bring the mehndi to life, Namita Jain from Mogra By Namita shares, “The Mehendi embraced the beauty of Indian tradition with a touch of personalised charm, as our bride envisioned a wedding that celebrated her heritage uniquely and elegantly. Steering away from bright colors, she opted for a sophisticated palette of serene floral sanganeri prints, marigolds, carnations, and sunflowers, infusing the festivities with the warm hues of Indian flora.
But it wasn’t just about the flowers; customisations were woven into every aspect. From intricately designed fans bearing illustrations and initials of the couple to bespoke details adorning every corner, each element spoke to their love story and individuality. It was a wedding where tradition met customization, creating an unforgettable union that reflected their personalities and journey together.”
As the big day dawned, whimsy with a touch of contemporary sleekness was on the cards. Canopies of bellowing white sheltered the guests from the sun while the vintage soft grey upholstered wooden chairs ensured a comfy seating arrangement. The artful use of bronze, grey, light sea green and ivory looked right at home within the garden-based venue.
Namita shares, “Transporting guests to a whimsical garden oasis with a touch of Western flair, our backyard wedding seamlessly blended the beauty of nature with Indian elegance. Amongst the lush greenery, Indian flowers like Rajnigandha and Mogra took centre stage, delicately arranged in brass vessels, infusing the air with their sweet fragrance. The mandap, a focal point of the celebration, stood beneath a decked-up tree, serving as a natural yet enchanting backdrop for the union of two souls. It was a celebration where the essence of nature intertwined with the rich tapestry of Indian tradition, creating a magical setting where love blossomed amidst the beauty of the great outdoors.”
