For Sneha and Shalin, choosing the venue was of supreme importance as they wanted both sides of their families to enjoy themselves thoroughly. The duo shares, “The moment we laid eyes on the pristine landscape of Mahabalipuram, it felt like destiny—both our families were instantly captivated! With our shared love for beaches, we couldn’t imagine a more perfect setting” Giving us an overview of their venue selection process, the duo shares, “The moment we laid eyes on Kaldan Samudhra Palace in Mahabalipuram, it felt like destiny—both our families were instantly captivated. With our shared love for beaches, we couldn’t imagine a more perfect setting than a regal palace overlooking the sea. A serendipitous YouTube video of a wedding held there last August sealed the deal—its grandeur and charm won everyone over.”
Sneha added, “We wanted a destination that was accessible for our Indian relatives and offered a holiday escape for our loved ones abroad. After considering popular choices like Goa and Jaipur, we knew we wanted something different—elegant, intimate, and unforgettable. Planning a wedding between me, being an American Telugu bride and Shalin, a Canadian Gujarati groom, was a challenging proposition, but we made it happen!”

The couple were also extremely happy with the wedding designers, Marriage Colours, who made their dreams come true. The duo remarks, “Our experience with Marriage Colours was nothing short of phenomenal. They brought our vision to life in a remarkably short period, handling every detail with such precision and care. From start to finish, their dedication and seamless execution made the entire journey feel effortless and truly unforgettable.”

Mehndi
Pradeep Chander from Marriage Colours shares, “The bride is a huge Disney buff and an ardent admirer of fairytales, so the entire wedding was designed around a whimsical fairytale theme. We kicked off the celebrations with an intimate mehendi in the couple’s luxury suite surrounded by close family, as they warmly welcomed their guests arriving for the festivities.”

Haldi
Sneha shares, “The Haldi was our first main event on the morning of February 25, and the décor was beautifully brought to life by the amazing team at Marriage Colours. They curated the prettiest marigold-themed celebration by the beach—it was vibrant, joyful, and everything I had imagined!”

Sangeet
Sneha fondly recalls, “Our Sangeet was nothing short of a dream—it was themed ‘A Cinderella Story,’ and the décor took our breath away the moment we stepped into the stunning Sundarbhag Lawn. A grand castle stood tall as the backdrop, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. Each entry was choreographed to perfection. The night truly began when my ‘Prince Charming’ made me slip my foot into a Christian Louboutin glass slipper, amidst a dazzling display of lights and fireworks. With loved ones dancing their hearts out and the fairytale unfolding beautifully, it was the perfect prelude to our whimsical fairy garden wedding the next day.”

Wedding and Reception
Pradeep shares, “The wedding muhurtham took place in the morning right by the beach—and it was truly magical. We envisioned a ‘minty fresh and peach perfect’ theme, and the decor reflected just that. The bridesmaids and bride’s sisters were elegantly dressed in peach, while the groomsmen coordinated in mint, creating a picture-perfect palette that blended beautifully with the ocean backdrop. With intricate florals, majestic peacocks, and the soothing sound of waves crashing behind us, the setting was nothing short of breathtaking. The weather was kind to us, and the bride had her true princess moment—arriving in a traditional ‘palki’, carried by her brothers, to meet Shalin.
To end the celebrations on a grand note, we hosted an Arabian Nights–themed reception in the banquet hall. Think magic carpets, jewel-toned trussing, and an unforgettable grand entry by the bride and groom atop a genie lamp—it was the perfect finale to a fairytale wedding.”

Advise for Couples
The bride shares heartfelt advice for future couples: “My biggest tip would be to start planning as early as possible—especially if you have a specific vision or themed elements in mind. Early planning gives you the best chance to bring those dreams to life seamlessly. Be mindful when selecting vendors—choose those who truly understand your vision and have the ability to deliver it flawlessly. The team at Marriage Colours was a dream to work with—flexible, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our vision a reality. I truly couldn’t have wished for a dreamier wedding! I hope sharing our journey, trusted vendors, and planning experience helps other couples put together their perfect team and craft the wedding of their dreams too.”
