From the tropical boho Mehndi to the grand Atlantis city themed Wedding Reception, Aishwarya and Gautham’s stunning Mahabalipuram wedding was exquisitely planned and executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – PetalsNDrapes. Hosted across iconic beach resorts in Mahabalipuram including the groom’s family-owned Grande Bay Resort and Spa, every occasion was replete with striking decor and priceless moments of love. Wedding Planning
The couple opted to host their Wedding and Reception at Four Points by Sheraton Mahabalipuram Resort and Convention Center, while the Pre-wedding festivities were hosted at the groom’s family-owned Grand Bay Resort and Spa. They envisioned each of their functions to be intricately designed with stunning decor and unique elements to dazzle and engage the guests for which they brought on board the team of PetalsNDrapes to execute the same.

Mehendi
The lush outdoor Mehndi was evocative of a tropical paradise designed with cozy cabanas, pampas grass, quirky props and an abundance of exotic blooms. Rustic diwans, plush sofas and more were used to create a comfy seating for the guests as they got their hands painted with henna, while additional cane furniture, candle votives, brass paraphernalia, hashtag signages, a macramé corner and floral Rangoli all added to the lively boho vibe of the occasion. Professional dancers set a rousing tone for the evening, while everyone followed them on the dance floor to ring in a night of revelry.
Haldi
Set in a blend of traditional yellow marigolds and sunny printed drapes, the Haldi function was a unique yet familiar treat to the eyes. The bride and groom were seated in massive brass urlis filled with rose petals as they were doused with turmeric paste, water and flowers by their loved ones.
Wedding and Reception
Hailing from the quaint shores of Mahabalipuram, the groom wanted the wedding to reflect his family history and heritage against their love for the coast, and the team of PetalsNDraped captured his vision with a stunningly executed rendition of the fictional city of Atlantis. Brimming with exotic flowers and tropical greens, the decor included everything from oyster shells, corals and pearls to exquisite ivory statues that took one on a fantastical journey of the ocean. Huge French windows, green canopies hung with lounge lights and luxurious chandeliers added to the grandeur. The bride and groom arrived in a vintage car and entered to a resounding welcome of sparklers for the traditional nuptials. The wedding stage was a striking creation of white and red flowers, complete with idols of Kalyana Perumal and Thayar from Chennai to honor their traditions, with magnificent flower Rangolis surrounding it.
