From an Italian welcome dinner to an Arabic Sangeet, this Dubai wedding saw stellar decor themes!
Wedding Planning - May 27, 2024
This beguiling Dubai wedding saw a rich confluence of aesthetics, experiences, and entertainment, crafted to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Ikigaii Planners.
The Dubai-based couple wanted to give their friends and family a taste of what the city has to offer. With renowned Taj Hospitality, stellar culinary offerings, and striking views of both Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa, Taj Exotica Resort and Spa The Palm was the obvious choice. From finalizing the venue to selecting vendors and ironing out every little detail, Team Ikigaii Planners planned the wedding to perfection.
Sharing their insight, Team Ikigaii Planners shares, “The couple was very specific about everything from the themes for their wedding to the menus, decor, and more. We understood the vision and locked into Taj Exotica as the perfect property for the couple. Things got in motion when we recommended Yogi of Oragraphy, who flew into Mumbai to meet the couple on their outfit-sourcing trip. Every vendor was selected keeping in mind the mix of audience coming in from different parts of the world, to make sure everyone would have an amazing time.”
Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner
The first event was the Capri Chic Welcome Dinner which transported the guests to the Mediterranean beauty of Italy. The lemon, a symbol of the Mediterranean lifestyle, sunny outdoors, blue skies, and leafy greens, was the highlight of the “la dolce vita” decor theme. The food spread consisted of amazing Italian starters, salads, classic pizzas, and pasta, and was topped off with fan favorites like gelato and tiramisu. It was the perfect start to the celebrations!
Haldi
The second day began with a “tropical mela”-themed haldi with Indian street food galore! The food at the event included all the crowd favourites, from Chowpatty chaats to street-style noodles, kulfi falooda, fresh jalebi, and more.
Sangeet
In the evening, it was time to dance the night away with an Arabic-themed Mehndi and Sangeet, bedecked with lanterns and tassels. Live musician Sourabh set the tone of the event right from the start while Emcee Punit got the guests warmed up, the night unfolded with games, impressions, performances, and even a dance-off! The guests were treated to an array of Arabic and Indian delicacies including traditional mezze, falafel, live shawarma stations, and baklava chaat, to name a few, while the Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa served as the background to the merriment.
Wedding
The wedding day commenced with a shower from the heavens, despite which Team Ikigaii Planners worked tirelessly to ensure the celebrations unfolded as planned. The space was enveloped in a sea of red roses, setting an ambiance of romance and decadence. As the couple exchanged their garlands, they were showered with rose petals and love by their friends and family.
Reception
The festivities came to a spectacular close with a starry night Reception, full of sparkle and candles. The guests received personalised star-shaped sunglasses on their seats, enjoyed LED performances, and were welcomed to tuck into an array of cocktails with personalised drink toppers that featured pictures from the couple’s pre-wedding photoshoot. Emcee Punit kept everyone’s spirits high as they enjoyed unforgettable performances and speeches. As the night went on, the couple and their loved ones partied with DJ Harry into the early hours of the morning, ending only with the song “Angels” by Robbie Williams as their friends and family surrounded them on the dancefloor.
