From the boho Haldi to the whimsical Reception, this lakeside wedding put a unique new spin on traditional ceremonies

If a fun, fuss-free wedding celebration is what you dream of, take a cue from this unique wedding that saw a civil ceremony and colorful festivities. Finance Analyst Sanjna Thakeria and Tech Professional Kunal Maheshwari tied the knot with a beguiling wedding on the banks of Powai lake, for which WeddingSutra Favorite – Bhoomi Events and Planners fused customs and unique ideas to match their personalities. Wedding Planning
The couple envisioned a celebration that was effortless and easygoing, one where they could relish every moment with their loved ones, and handed the responsibility of orchestrating it to Bhoomi Events and Planners. Not very tied to the idea of traditional ceremonies, they opted instead for a civil wedding ceremony, and kept the rest of the light of their function on rituals, focusing instead on fun and enjoyment, and their vision was executed to perfection by the team. The festivities saw unique concepts and colorful decor tied together with rousing entertainment, made all the more memorable with the charm and wit of Emcee Vishaal Rasquinha.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The festivities kicked off in high spirits with a colorful Mehndi soiree on the lawns of the hotel. Flanked by the lake, the natural greenery of the space made for a stunning canvas for the bright fuchsia and orange decor that was full of fruits, flowers, fun textures, and prints, refreshing and beautiful like summer love. Music and merriment filled the air as everyone enjoyed and mingled.
Wedding and Sangeet
The energy of the festivities revved up as the evening continued. The edgy glamorous decor of black and gold saw lounge and marquee lights, chandeliers, LED lights, and more. The couple exchanged varmalas and signed their marriage certificate on the stage amidst great cheers before dancing their hearts out to the tunes of Tushar Jules and DJ Sandy, as Emcee Vishaal Rasquinha kept the momentum up and going.
Phoolon ki holi
In a unique twist on the usual order of rituals, the next day followed with a haldi ceremony that was adapted with modern decor and festivities to reflect the couple’s vision. The traditional yellow flowers were combined with boho elements such as rattan baskets, charpaai, teepees, cane furniture, drapes, and more for a rustic yet refreshing ambiance. The couple and their loved ones came together for a fun phoolon ki holi, haldi rituals, fun party games like beer pong, mango lassi, and a lot more.
Sundowner
To complete their wedding festivities, the couple swapped out the usual formal dinner for a charming sundowner Reception. The whimsical pastel decor saw 3D flowers, dreamcatchers, colorful lamps, Edison bulbs, and more to fill the lakefront lawns. The evening was filled with the melodious Sufi music of the Sursaaj band as the couple cut the cake and enjoyed a delectable meal with their friends and family. A rousing after-party kept the energy going with sneakers, dancing, and flaming shots.
